week 17
The last week of the regular season is upon us and if you ask me it has been a great season competition wise i know their was a lot of injuries and their hasnt been perfect football or a team that is so much better then everyone else and i liked it a lot granted there was no real super power awesome to watch just amazing football team this year but i think that the way the season played out was good for the NFL if you ask me, dont get me wrong i loved last season (and if you knew me you'd know i called the Saints winning the superbowl before the season started, i know i am a packers fan and they are in our divison i just had a weird feeling last year, i shoulda gone to Vegas preseason and laid 100 bucks on em but i couldnt make it out there) with all the amazing football and Drew Brees being himself and that defense of theirs just finding ways to win or ways to get Drew back out there so he could do what he does best, i think that this year if the Saits D was what it was last year and Drew had lets say half the picks he does i think theyd be the same team they were last year but injuries to their to backs played some part also i know Ivory came up big for them but they still are a pass first team and Drew passes so much he is bound to have a season where he happens to have a few more picks then he's used to BUT he still is so accurate its ridiculous he leads the NFL in both compeletion percentage and passing yards but he is second in picks with 21 behind Eli's 24. Not forgetting the Colts who did what they normally do and went undo for most of the season, the Vikings who played to their full potential and a few other teams who were playing great as well, not to mention last season was ALMOST injury free to big key players on good teams anyways i know no NFL season in injury free, while last season was great to watch and the football was outstanding you already knew who would be in the superbowl halfway through the season and you knew who was gunna win and who was gunna lose i liked the shows that those 3 teams put on last year i really did but sometimes its fun to not know anything until the superbowl is over. Which brings me to this year and the amazing season that we have had where on any given sunday any team can come out there and beat your team no matter what either of there records are and last night is the perfect example of that. Anyways i will get to my picks for the week when i get back from lunch sorry to do this and leave you hangin but this is a pretty decent start and it will give you a reason to come back and read my second post of the day with my picks and the recap of today in the NBA

seriously
Man i think i am done sticking up for the Lakers i know they have the talent and i know they can be one of the best teams in the league but seriously right now they are to slow and just now playing good basketball settling for the outside shoot not driving to the basket or not looking for another pass before you just pull up and shoot and the biggest thing is like i said last night they are not taking the game as serious as their oppostion is and i am offically not writing about how good they are anymore until they win me back. I think right now the Heat and the Spurs are obviously playing the best basketball, with the Celtics and Mavericks close behind and then the Magic and Bulls and a few other teams coming in 3rd place for now. I am not counting the Mav's loss tonight i know they shoulda kill the Raptors but they were without Dirk and didnt shoot the ball well and since they are an offensive team first and are just now starting to get in on the defensive side of things they cant shoot the ball poorly on a night without their biggest scorer on the floor, and so for my second time picking NBA games i think i did alright i went 4-3 bringing my record this seaon to 6-6 and even .500 i hope that my picks for tomorrow are better then today obviously, but hey i am kinda new to the whole basketball thing i mean i have kinda watch for the past 3 or 4 years but not seriously like i have been this year, i am also in the middle of Bill Simmons new book The Book of Basketball which i will say is a must read not just for any basketball fan but for any sports fan in general obviously you need to like basketball somewhat to read it. Anyways back to the NBA and the 2 teams i just mention atop the league, i kept saying at the start of the season just to give the Heat time (when everyone was jumping off their bandwagon) i knew that eventually D-Wade and LBJ would figure it out they are both too good to be as bad as they were at the start of the season, you could tell they werent comfortable with giving the other guy the ball or maybe they tried giving the other guy the ball to much, which i think wade did, he was so worried about LeBron getting his and wasnt forcusing on his own game, like i said they have been superb on the defensive end all season and that is what it takes to win Championships but you need offense as well and they finally came together after that win in Cleveland and figured things out. i think they finally figured out how the 3 of them could play together and do it right, i know i know i didnt pick the Heat to win it this year and i still stand by that statement i think they make the conference finals but loss to the Celtics and i think the Celtics beat the Lakers in 7....but that is not set in stone that is just the way i see it right now MAYBE the Spurs but i dont know it all depends on how they are playin come the second half and home stretch of the season. I have to give D wade made props on his 40 point game. I am disapointed that the Heat beat the Knicks for some reason i like the Knicks alot i think once in the post season they might be a team to watch out for to make an improbable run. I think thats all i got on the NBA tonight i didnt catch any games so i cant really say much else i will however catch some games tomorrow and have ALOT more to say on the NBA and also i will go over the best players in the league in my eyes so far.
I just have to touch on the Eagles Vikings game since it was tonight and since the Vikings pull a huge upset with a rookie QB making his first start. It seems that everyone is copying the Giants after they showed that pressuring Vick is the key to beating him, but if you ask me the way Vick has improved his game its only a matter of time before he can deal with the pressure and find the hot route guy to beat the blitz all day and then what will teams do to beat him? i am not saying Vick is the MVP or the best athelete the NFL has i am just saying he can for sure get it done and he obviously has talent that is out of control and endless and now that he knows he has to study study study to be successful in the NFL i think he figures out a way to beat the blitz but it still isnt enough to get them into the superbowl. THats all i have on the NFL today but tomorrow i will make my picks for the week and talk playoffs and sueprbowl and all my favorite plays and games of the season as well as where i would place my MVP vote if i had one, i know this is kinda short for one of my posts and im sorry for that i just got home late and didnt catch any games or anything and i like to see what i write about not just look at the Box score on ESPN.com so ill be back tomorrow with ALOT of stuff for you ill get on in the morning and do my NFL post then at night to recap my picks on the days NBA games as well as talk more NBA and maybe some college hoops.

finally
I know that a week where i have 5 wrong picks is for sure not my best week but id like to think of this past week as one of my best weeks when it comes to the picks i made, maybe because i finally pick the right underdogs...well some of the right ones anyways. Some of the underdogs that won this weekend were unbelievable like Cincy beating San Diego, or Washington beating the Jags not to mention the Cowboys losing to the Cardinals, i know i picked the Cowboys to win but i love to see them lose especially to a team the like Cardinals are this year. haha sorry cowboy fan. Maybe im so happy about my picks cause my Packers housed the Giants and cause A-Rog put up 34 fantasy points for me as well. Maybe its cause the Lions FINALLY had my back this week and FINALLY pulled out a W when i acutally picked them to win. Maybe its cause i just had a feeling the Saints were gunna have the answer to Matty ice and the Georgia dome maybe its all of those combind but hey all in all i think i had a pretty good week as far as football goes. I will be back tomorrow to talk more NFL.
As you know i made my first NBA picks of the season in my last post, in doing so i went 2-3 which was disapointing i really thought the Celtics would handle that game but i am more sad about the Lakers losing to the Heat especially after i talked them up in my last post saying how they are better then last years team, and i still stick by that statement we saw early this season what they are capable of but i have to agree with Kobe i think that their opposition is taking their games more seriously then the Lakers are i think that this was a big loss to them i think they will rebound strong, i wanna say this is a turning point in their season and i hope im right i think they dont look back from here, i think they are gunna come on strong the rest of the season and show people why they are the 2 time defending champs. Now im not sayin that they will go on to 3-peat but i will say this, if they play to their full potential i think they have to best chance in the league, them and the Celtics i have to give them credit they have handle their business this season thats for sure...and now i will make my picks for tomorrow and wednesday...so here they are I'll take the Magic over the Cavs, obvious choice here i dont think that need any explaining, next i take the Celtics over the Pacers i think that Boston is looking to prove something after that Xmas day upset they suffered. I am taking the Knicks over the Heat for one of my upsets i think that Amare is due for a big game he hasnt had one in a few games i just think he will be to much for the Heat inside and i think that his supporting cast steps up big in this one and they edge out a win at Miami. I am taking the Bulls over the Bucks, the Mavs over the Raptors, and for another "upset" this one not so much so but i am taking the Lakers to beat the Spurs which will be one of many wins to come for the Lakers after the disapointing loss to the Heat, and for the last game of the day i will take The Nuggets over the Trail Blazers. As for Wednesday goes i will take the Hawks over the Warriors, i will take the Pacers over the Wizards, then i will take the Bobcats over the Cavs, I will take the Celtics over the Pistons i really used to like the Pistons i wish Big Ben were still in his prime as well as some of their other players so they could be a team to watch out for with there amazing defense and just great basketball but those days are over. I got the Lakers over the Hornets making it 2 in a row and that will just be the start of their win streak that is on its way. i think the Nuggets will beat the Timberwolves The thunder will handle the Nets, and the Heat will beat the Rockets i think the Heat have finally learned how to play together i think they finally understand they they dont need to really change their game that much to play together they just need to do whay they do and trust that the other guys will do the same, but i will tell you i am really impressed with there defense just like everyone else i mean without it they might have been off to an even worse start, Anyways ill take the 76ers over the Suns that right the Sixers over the Suns and the Grizzlies will beat the Kings and last but not least the Jazz will beat the Clippers in LA. So thats all i got for now sorry i dont post on weekends anymore i will try to find somewhere to post from this weekend, but i will be back tomorrow to talk some NFL as well as NCAA basketball i wanna talk NCAA hoops right now but its gettting late and im off to bed so hope you enjoyed the awesome Monday night football game. i know i sure did

better late then never
I know i know i said i would get on this morning to give you my picks so that youd have my pic for tonights game, then i looked at who was playing and thought i'll sleep in cause the out come of this one was pretty obvious, boy am i glad i put Mike Wallace in for my Fantasy football team this week im in the championship game this week and that was ther perfect way to start (knock on wood) im going to start doing that after everything i say since last night i gave a shout out to the Lobo's and their winning streak was snapped tonight in the championship game in Vegas, these past few weeks just have been horrible for me, but thats sports you take the lows cause you know there will be highs, just like poker. Well anyways back to the NFL and my picks for the week, Yes i had the Steelers winning tonight. as for the rest of the weeks games. I have the Cowboys taking care of bussiness against a what i thought was recharged Cardinals team after their win 2 weeks ago but after last weeks showing i think the cowboys will take this one with convincing fashion. I think the Cowboys will be able to hold there lead a little better this week, i know their season wasnt what they wanted but at least they got rid of Wade (which if you ask me they should have done that awhile back) and now have turned things around under their new head coach so at least the seaon wasnt a total waste. The next game of the week is an easy one i have the Pats winning big in Buffalo i think Brady will have another amazing game and i think his streak with no picks will continue. Even though he is so effing lucky that Charles woodson wasnt on his A game last sunday cause if he was Bradys streak would be over and the Packers woud have won that game. im not sayin im just sayin. But anyways as Jay-Z would say....On to the next one...which would be the Jets at the Bears I know this pick might surprise alot of you being that i hate the Sanchize BUT i think that these teams are spitting imagines of one another but i think the Jets have more weapons on offense which will give them the Edge plus for some reason i think the Sanchize likes having to pull of insane come from behind playoff runs i think thats the way they fire themselves up they make it so they have to be perfect in order to win, just like they did all season long in most of their games. give up a huge lead come back win in OT or spot teams a few TD lead and come back to win in the last seconds of the 4th or OT they remind me a little of last years Cincy team but i think the Jets defense is better and i look for Mark to make fewer mistakes then Jay and i look for Edwards to have a big game and i think LT will come back and play how he was playing at the start of the season. So there is one of my underdog picks for the week. Next the Ravens play the Browns i think the Ravens take care of the Browns and keep winning the games they are supposed to and i think Ray Rice will have another break out game as well as the Ravens defense.I really like the next match up San fransico at at St. Louis i think this will be a good game but i think the Rams are to much for the Niners to handle i think Bradford has a great game i think that their defense plays a little better then last week and i think that Sam is a little more experinced this time around i also think the Rams are hungry to redeem themselves for the OT loss they suffered to the Niners earlier in the year, i think Jackson will be a big part of Sam's Success. The next game is Detroit at Miami the Lions have won their last 2 games and im going out on a limb here and picking them to upset the Dolphins i know that Miami has shown signs of greatness but really this year has been a huge bust on their part i expected them to be a tough physical hard to beat football team and i think they started that way on defense but then they lost that on the other side of the ball and i think they are just not playing as good as they should be and the Lions are starting to believe in their talent i mean why wouldnt they look at who they have: Calvin Johnson and Jahvid best and Morris as well as that defensive front anchored by Suh which i know a few of those were surprises earlier in the year but now are soild contributers and a real big part of why they have been able to come away with 2 quality wins the past 2 weeks and i think they continue the streak with a win in Miami this weekend. The Lions could easily be a team at .500 right now if they didnt shoot themselves in the foot and if Calvin didnt get screwed out of a TD the game against the Bears earlier this season, but they have managed to lose at least 5 games in the last quarter of the game, but i like what they have been doing and i think it will continue this week. The Redskins at The Jag's i am taking the Jags in this one i think MJD will redeem himself this week with a big week since last week he had a poor outting against a poor run defense. i think the Jags offense is just to much for Washington to handle espeically with their weak secondary i think Sims-Walker will have a good game as well as everyone else on the Jags offense, the Redskins will be playing catch up all game and i think the way the Jags D has played recently will keep any come back runs (like they pulled last week) out of the question. The next game on the slate is The Titans vs. The Chiefs and even though the Titans are coming off a big win against the Texans i think the Chiefs are an all around better football team and i think their offense will get them out to an early lead and the defense will keep the Titans from getting back in it, i just think the Chiefs have to many ways they can hurt you and the Titans are not the same Titans from last year their offense is no where to be seen and their defense is no where near as though on the run as it was before and they just look defeated to me and thats why i am taking the Chiefs winning BIG. Next game is going to be a really really good one Indy at Oakland, this is a really tough one i am really thinking about going with Oakland but given whats on the line for the Colts and how good number 18 is in these situtations not to mention Austin Collie AND Addai are both back with all that said i cant pick against the Colts so i am taking them in a SUPER close one, but i would not be surprised if the Raiders win, Mcfadden is just tearing it up this year and the Colts have horrible run defense and i really think that will hurt them in this game casue even if they do stop the run if Jason Camble keeps his composer in the pocket he can burn em deep IF the colts are worried about the run which they will be, BUT i think Manning just wills his team to a W in the final minutes of the game. The Texans at the Broncos i think the Texans will mad at last weeks loss and i think they put up to many points for Denver to compete with and come away with a W here, I really hope they draft defensively this year because if they add to come strong pass rushers on the d line and some secondary help they can be a playoff team next year no questions asked. Next games is San Diego at Cincy and obviously i got the Bolts in this one i think they have another huge game on the offensive side of the ball i really hope their late run is enough for them to clinch a playoff spot cause if they get their they can do some damage they are a really good team yes late bloomers but i think they will have a great game this week i hope malcom Floyd can come back. Seahawks at thge Bucs i got Tampa winning big here wanting to make a statement for their loss last week to the Lions, look for freeman to have a good game as well as Blount, (but please keep your fingers crossed for Lynch to have a big game so he helps out my fantasy team) ok and now The Giants at Green bay and i know everyone knows im going with the Packers not just cause they are my team and i think they can beat any team in the league (especially if they were healthy which is a whole different issue i wont even get started with!) but i think that Rodgers will pick their defense apart i know they like to hit hard and try and take QB's outta the game but i think that Rodgers will pick their defense apart and i think on the other side of the ball we will forse Eli to make to many mistakes and i think our defesne comes up with a few KEY turnovers and we come away with a MUST win here to keep our playoff hopes alive. (knock on wood!!) Next game is another easy pick the Vikings at the Eagles i have the Eagles with a big win here i think that they are a little disapointed in the way they started last weeks game obviously excited about how they battled back and finished but i think they put this one away early and never look back. Now last but for sure not least its the Saints vs. the Falcons and this is my other upset pick of the week and since its IN the georgia dome its an even bigger upset thats right im take the Saints to go into Matty Ice's house and steal one i think it will be just as close as the last time these 2 teams met earlier in the year but i think the Saints defense is playing a little more like their defense of last year and i think Reggie is feeling 100% and that i think right there will be key in the Saints victory over the Falcons this week. There they are all my picks in the books i think this week will be my best week picks wise all season.
One last thing i wanted to say props to the Pens as they beat the Caps tonight in a shoot out and Sid the kid continues his points streak with an assist AND scored his 29th goal of the season i know that the Caps havent been the Caps of old but i think they will get hot in the secon half and i look for this to be an awesome match up post season whenever they meet be it in the first round or the eastern confrence finals either way i think that the Pens might be on course for their 2nd stanley cup.
And now here is something new something i am going to start doing a lot more often with the football season coming to an end, i am gunna give you my NBA picks for Xmas day, I got New York pulling the upset over Chicago i would think its an upset yes i know the Knicks are playing great but the Bulls are the better team i just think with Noah gone Stoudemire will run wild maybe even go for 35-40 i know Boozer is there too and is also play great i just think Amare is on a whole other level and is taking the rest of his team with him up a notch. I got Boston over Orlando i know the Magic have made some moves the past week to make them stronger on the Offensive end but i think they lack to much defense and i think well check that i know it will show up on xmas against a defensivly sound team in Boston who can also shoot the ball really well i just dont see Orlando matching up with Boston at all. Next is Miami at The Lakers i am so sorry LeBron that you have to play on Xmas i am sure your game day check will be the only good thing basketball related that day cause i dont see the Heat coming away with the W here i know the Lakers havent been playing super great basketball as of late but they are back on track and i think that Kobe doesnt want to lose to LeBron ESPECIALLY after Boston has handle them easily this year and Kobe knows that not to mention i still think he is a little angry about The Heat being the "favorite" to win the Championship this year even with the 2 time defending LA Lakers looking just as good if not better then last year. Then there is Denver at OKC i think OKC will have a good game and come away with a win even though i wouldnt be surprised if the Nuggets won this one, i like the way New mexico Grad J.R. Smith has come around and i think that they are starting to turn things around but i dont know if they can come into OKC and come away with a W, thats why im sticking with the Thunder in this one. Last game of the day is Portland at Golden state and i will be taking the Trail blazers in the last game of Xmas day. and thats my first NBA picks of the year much more to come here and i will be starting to pick NCAA basketball as well. So come back tomorrow and check out i will do a Poker Blog as well as a few other sports i am big on that i havent touch on yet like MMA and a little fantasy baseball talk as well.

im bacck
Sorry for the break but after that packers loss to the Lions i was so heart broken i had to step back and take a break. i know everyone has probably missed me and didnt know what to do with out me and my awesome view on the world of sports lol jkjk. but anyways just wanted to touch on some college basketball. Tonight there was an awesome game between Illinois and Mizzu and if you read my blog you know how much i like Illinois this year, and it looked like tonight they were the better team and it seemed that they would pull the up set up pretty big in the first half, the second half i think Mizzu's pressure got to them, this was Illinois game to win but i am not taking anything away from the defense of Mizzu it was outstanding you could tell it was bothering Illinois in the second half they couldnt get the ball up court which in turn gave them a short shot clock and i think forced them to take poor shots, i know the final score would have you think this game wasnt close but Mizzu got that 10 point lead literally with like 20 seconds left. well what happend was, Mizzu was up by 4 with like 49 seconds left they inbound but Illinois steals it and drains a 3 but then Mizzu inbounds the ball so fast they have a man wide open at their end of the court and they hurl it down there and the guy goes for the lay up and Illinois center i believe it was fouled him and they called it an intentional foul which gave Mizzu 2 free throws and the ball back which was 6 points right there then Illinois missed the shot at their end of the court and then Mizzu hit its freethrows to end the game. I am still really impressed with Illinois but i really really like Mizzu i havent got a chance to see them play this year but that defense is outstanding they play the zone super good and kill the pick and roll which also really had Illinois baffled. While im on the subject of college hoops i would like to give props to the Lobos who have won 8 straight!
I know i have been gone awhile and alot has happened, man o man was i so excited watching the packers game this past weekend when Matt Flynn was playing for A-Rog i was sure they were gunna pull the upset but of course since they were my upset pick, they won the first 3 and 1/2 quarters and then loss the game in the last like 10 to 5 minutes, i swear if this keeps happening to me with my picks for the rest of the year and into other sports i will be super disapointed as i know you will be also. i will come back tomorrow to do my picks for the week since tomorrow is the first game of the week ill get on in the morning and let everyone know my picks.
Since i am a huge baseball guy and since the winter meetings are over and pretty much all ther free agents are signed i would like to say i am upset that Cliff didnt pick the Rangers BUT i am super excited as a baseball fan to watch that Philly rotation this ocming season, i mean seriously, lol i jokingly posted on my facebook that with their new rotation they are going to have the new single season win record with 142 wins lol but obivously thats not going to happen but i wont be surprised if they do break the record just not by that much i know this seems alot like the "big 3" but remember Cliff has played with most of these guys before and while you do need chemistry on a baseball team its more with the feilders then the pitcher, I loved the ESPN article about this rotation being one of the best in history, and since i am not super old i cant really remember any of the rotation they said except the Braves in the 90's and i was wondering why they never mention the A's rotation of the 90's when Zito, Hudson, and Mulder were all on the A's i would argue that to be a really good rotation. I know the Giants have a great startin rotation this year too i just dont like mentioning them cause they beat my Rangers but hey they destroyed the best pitching in baseball to do it, first the Phillies then Cliff and my Rangers...(even though the Rangers bats suddenly went cold while the Giants bats got red hot) i guess to say the least i am SUPER excited about this coming season cant wait till spring training will probably catch a few games, try and maybe if im lucky talk to some players or coaches or member of the media and try and get some REAL inside sports reporting going on.
I am also gunna start following local sports much closer and try and reach local high school/college maybe even semi pro atheletes here in the ABQ, well hope your glad im back and hope you come back and start reading again.

on fire?
There are a few teams who are ridding a couple game win streak. The Heat, The Spurs, and surprisingly enough the Knicks. Yeah thats right the Knicks have won 7 in a row and 11 of their last 12 but like the Heat before beating Utah yesterday are yet to beat a team with a winning record so we find ourselves asking if the Knicks are for real? Obviously Amare is doing his part for them, averaging 34 points in the last 5 or 6 games i think (and of course the person i am playing in fantasy basketball has him on their team, and Blatche has been hurt for 2 games which really hurt me in the blocks and points department, points more then blocks but still.) but we will see if he can continue those numbers in the upcoming month they have a brutal schedule it goes like this Denver, Boston, Miami, then they get a break at Cleveland, then OKC, Chicago, Miami, Orlando, Indiana, San Antonio, Phoenix, LA Lakers. So i will get back to you on what i think of the Knicks in about 2 or 3 weeks from now. But the Heat finally have beaten a good team in the Utah Jazz holding them off in the 4th quarter yesterday and pulling off a much needed win, tonight they beat Golden State which isn't as impressive but hey still a win. The Spurs have only won 4 straight but i think this is just the start of another streak hopefully like the one they had at the start of the season hopefully Tony Parker continues to do well. Back to the Heat tonight was Wades nights its like they finally said hey i dont have to score 35 every night to be the greatest, and they now arent the only good players on their team so they dont have to do it all and they CAN trust the other guys around them to also put on an amazing performance, like i said at the start of the season there was nothing to worry about when they find there rhythm they will be the Heat everyone thought they were gunna be, and sure enough here we are about a quarter way through the season and they seem to have things somewhat figured out. It seems that the Lakers are having there normal start of the season hardships but i still would bet come playoff time they are the team everyone is talking about, the team that looks great the team thats on fire dominating everyone. They have a favorable schedule the next couple weeks so they should have things going in the right direction as they meet up with the Heat on Christmas day.
Being from Albuquerque i was going to say good luck to GSP in his match against Koscheck, i think he is at his prime and i am hoping he destroys Koscheck, yeah i know i am a former wrestler and Josh was an NCAA champ but ever since i first saw him on the first season of the ultimate fighter, i have hated him he is so cocky and at the time he was a totally a one sided fighter he would just take people down and ride out the victory. Yes once he enter the UFC i will admit he did put in the work to become a better fighter but that doesnt mean i have to like the guy, but i am taking GSP in a knock out midway through the 2nd or 3rd round.
As far as the rest of my picks for the upcoming week in the NFL they goes as follows, I have the Browns over the bills, the Packers over the Lions, The Giants over the Vikes, The Steelers over the Bengals, the Bucs over the redskins, Falcons over the Panthers, The Raiders to upset the red hot Jags, the Niners over the Seahawks, Broncos over the Cardinals, Eagles over the Cowboys and last but not least the Ravens over the Texans.

Finally
The Heat finally get that quality win tonight over the Jazz who rallied from down by 20 to win the last time these 2 teams met, the Heat defiantly were not going to let that happen this game, out scoring the Jazz by 14 in the 4th quarter. I was listening to Scott Van Pelt earlier today and he was saying how the Heat would be good if Wade was ok with being LBJ's sidekick which is somewhat true i think tonight is going to be an average night for the Heat and if it is i think that D Wade would be fine with that (which is pretty much what SVP said LBJ going huge and Wade going just a tad less then that.) LBJ went for 33 points 7 rebounds and 3 dimes, as Wade went for 28 points 4 rebounds 4 dimes and 2 steals, the other roll players didnt seem to show up tonight beside big Z who had 16 and, Bosh had an ok night scoring 14 points with 9 boards, but like LBJ said after the game, they are good off the run and can run well and score well off the run....DUH it took you guys this long to figure that out, when that is pretty much all he has been doing the past 7 years! Just cause you and Wade have similar styles doesnt mean they cant be on the floor at the same time it just means like i have said before they need a point that can distribute the rock and see the floor also they need to not worry about one another and if the other one got enough shots while you were on the floor, cause believe me LBJ will get his shots thats just how he is, and Wade will get his i think they finally realized that the past week or so and now they are roll, do i think that this changes my pick as far as the post season goes....no i still don't think that they can win a championship this year but maybe next year maybe they make it to the finals this year IF they get REALLY hot late and get some luck mixed in.
I guess with all the free agents signing the past few days i have to say something about it. Am i glad the Sox got Carl kinda yes but it just proves my point how you have to have a big wallet in order to compete in the MLB if you dont have a big bankroll or if you arent a historic franchise, then you might as well kiss the playoffs even an 80 win season goodbye...(not including the Rangers although i hope with new ownership they are back in the hunt for big name players but all they need to focus on is Lee.) Anyways could you imagine Perk the pitcher from TCU who was supposed to be with the Rangers last year but they went bankrupt and couldnt sign him but could you imagine him being mentored by Cliff Lee could you imagine how could that kid could be! That would be amazing for the Rangers if they could get both those guys on their roster for this season. Obviously Perk would be in the minors for awhile but still Lee will be there for 6 maybe 7 years so who knows. Konerko stuck with the White Sox why cant Lee just stay with the Rangers i mean they will give him the best deal they can does a few million really matter if its still in the 100 million range SERIOUSLY! i will be so hurt if they dont land him. thats why i havent been talking about free agents and i think i will stop right here cause im just gettin mad.
I will go over a few upset picks for the upcoming week in the NFL for some reason i have this feeling that the Rams are gunna beat the Saints, i know i know the Saints have been playing really good football and the Rams have no impressive wins this seasons and that is a big reason i am picking them to win i think that, thats just how the NFL is going this year, no one is as good as we think or people are much better then we give them credit for, I know Brees has been better the past couple weeks but this year he has to many picks for my liking yes i know he has just about a 70% completion rate but still he has like 16 picks which is way to many if you ask me i know they pass ALOT and those picks also come from no run game but look at Rodgers he is in the same situation but like 1/3 the picks. I think Jackson and Bradford both have huge games and the Saints D will not be able to stop Jackson and the Rams will ride him to a victory. I know that the Jags are also play really good football but so are the Raiders and i am picking the Raiders to come away with a huge win at Jacksonville this weekend, i think that their speed will pose a problem for the Jags secondary, and i think the Raiders have a little better defense then the Jags and i think that it will be a high scoring game but that the Raiders will come away with a huge win here. Finally my last upset which i don't think is an upset at all but i guess when Rivers is playing as good as he is its always an upset to pick against the bolts but i think that the Chiefs are just to strong for the bolts, how can you be an underdog when you already beat the team once this year. I know i said that if you play a team twice that you should win but that was talking about one of the best QB/coach combo in Brady and the hoodie, i know Norv is an OK coach and Rivers is an amazing QB but i just dont seeing them beating the Chiefs this time around either the Chiefs are coming off a huge win against the Broncos (i know the broncos arent good but they housed the Chiefs last time they played) so with all that said i am gunna hit the sack come back tomorrow for the rest of my picks. as well as the bOWL BLog

Ouch
I turned the channel to ESPN as i sat down in the recliner chair in the basement, and was ready for Kansas vs Memphis, which turned out to be a much better game then i thought, well in the first half that is, Memphis did a great job of attacking the ball which forced 12 turnovers in the first half alone, this as well as good shooting made for an interesting first half, and if i am not mistaken i said that they would need to force turnovers and get a bog game in the paint to win. I was somewhat right, the reason i say a big game in the paint is cause to me Kansas lacks that tough big man inside, yes they have big men who can stretch the floor but a true post they do not have, or so it would seem from the past couple games i have watched them. I started to think as the first half ended if Memphis can keep this up they might have a shot at winning this thing. But i also remember that it is Kansas and that Memphis is a young team and they were only in the game due to the Jayhawks miscues so i figured the Jayhawks would come out strong in the second half and sure enough they came out of the half with an 11-4 run and they were much better against the pressure as the turnovers virtually disappeared. Also the Tigers did not shoot nearly as well in the second half, the whole game really they shot 37% from the field vs. the Jayhawks 57%, its hard to win a game when that number is that lopsided. I also said that the Morris brothers would have a great game, i know they usually have a great game but last night they went for a combine 30 points 3 blocks 3 steals 7 dimes and 15 boards, pretty impressive. Yes i was also impressed with the freshmen on the other end Will Barton who had 16 points 2 steals 2 dimes and 7 rebounds but i wasn't enough, did Memphis impress me last night? maybe a little bit they are young though which can hurt them but they have a lot of talent and i would expect them only to go up from here. The second game of the night was supposed to be the "good" game i really felt that Syracuse had yet to play any real talent and that Michigan State would be a big challenge for them...Boy was i wrong, like i said in yesterdays blog i really do like the Orange but i just thought they were not as good as MSU at this point in the year, i really didn't think they had been tested and i thought Michigan State coming off that loss to Duke would have something to prove. Once again i guess i was wrong, you could tell right away that it was gunna be one of those nights for the Spartans it seemed none of their starters could buy a bucket, I think that they needed to Green the ball a little more he had a decent night 11 rebounds 5 dimes 3 steals but only 6 points, he only took 6 shots for that matter, but what really killed the Spartans last night was they are a team that while being experienced and can drive the ball they like to shoot the 3 they rely a lot on the 3 point shot, not saying they cant drive the ball or that they don't have a big post player cause they do, but it seemed like they werent comfortable driving last night or something cause they were taking jumpers left and right, and being a team that relies on the 3 point shot you can not shoot 29% from beyond the arc i mean there is no way you will win the game that way. Not to mention 38% FG shooting as well. They look horrible last night for most of the game there were spurts there where they would make a come back, like the three point play some what through the 2nd half when dicky v shouted SPARTYS BAAACKK SPARTYS BAAACK haha it was classic dicky v and it made me laugh but still they got worked by the orange in every way possible out rebounded out scored obviously, just flat out, out played from the looks of it. I felt bad i really do think that MSU has all the talent they need this year to cut down the net but if they continue to play like this i dont see it happening, i mean right now i think Illinois is a team to watch for more so then MSU. Shout out to the Mav's for winning 10 straight, and shout out to the Lakers for grabbing a W.
I know that if you know me you know i love baseball and, if you have been watching sportscenter or any sports news for that matter you know that there have been a lot free agents being signed and i do want to write on that but i want to wait till Cliff Lee signs (hopefully with the Rangers!!) to really get into the whole free agent off season thing. later tonight i might talk a little about some of the huge contracts that have gone down the past couple weeks as well as my BOWL BLOG, i know i have been talking about it for a while well tonight i will write it, its just there are so many bowl games and so many interesting match ups that it might be like a million pages long haha well hope you come back tonight and read it.

A few good games
Tonight there are a few good college basketball games on ESPN they are two games i am looking forward to watching i think that the Kansas vs. Memphis game will be a good one i think that Memphis is good but not as good as years past, Kansas is good as well and i really liked how they played last time i saw them. I have yet to see Memphis play this year, it seems they have two big men and if they can dominate in the paint and not turn the ball over i think they will have a pretty good shot at pulling off the upset. UCLA did have great play from Honeycutt who was not a big but there big (Josh Smith) gave them a lot of second chance points with offensive boards as well as defensive boards as well, which could create a scoring opportunity. I still say the Jayhawks win this one (both teams are tied at 88th in rebounds per game.) but i think Memphis will make it a good game. The second game on the slate tonight is gunna be the game to watch, Michigan State vs. Syracuse both teams a ranked in the top 10 MSU is 8th and SU is 7th so tonight should be a great game, i really like the Orange and what they have done in the past especially the multiple OT game vs. UCONN I know that was a different team but they always have a strong team (obviously cause of the talent of the coaching staff, just like all college sports or any sports for that matter, but more so college) they have yet to play any ranked teams this year, and Michigan State has defiantly been challenged more and has had a tougher schedule coming into this one, that along with a a few other reasons is why i am taking Michigan State in this one, Syracuse is 213th overall in FG% and 178th in points per game granted they have a younger team, and they are getting great play from their senior who is averaging a double double so far this year, but like i said i really am impressed with Michigan State this year and they are older and more experienced then this Syracuse team and i think that will make a huge difference i say look for their starters to come out with a bang and get off to an early lead, look for Green and Lucas to have great games as well as the other starters just not as big as those 2. Well thats all i got this morning ill be back after those games for a recap as well as some comments on the NBA games of tonight.

gotta love the "Sanchize"
Man oh man am i glad to hear the announcers on MNF finally say what i have been saying all seasons! Which is that the Jets are no where near as good as everyone keeps letting on, like they said during the game, the Jets D has been carrying them all season, yes their offense looks decent with those OT and 4th quarter wins, but their offense always starts slow if it starts at all, i guess Rex (who reminds me a lot of Kenny Powers) thought if they surround Sanchize with as much talent as they could it would make him better, and it has worked for the most part and i will admit he did look decent in the first half of the season, not by any means great at all, but it seemed as though he had gotten a little better as far as picks were concerned. I mean before tonight's game he had 16 touchdowns vs. 8 picks not that great but still better then last season that is for sure. But tonight was the exact game i wanted to see, vintage Sanchize going for 0 TD's and 3 picks this game man i couldn't be happier seeing this. Yeah i know they were on hardknocks and i did come to like a lot of players on the team but i just never have liked the Sanchize or the New York football Jets i mean i do love a good defensive team, but you know those people who you hate but have no reason at all to hate them, that's the Jets for me i guess. It looks like i was right in my thoughts earlier today when i said you dont want to play the hoodie (Bill) and Tom "superman" Brady (not that he is the best, even though he just might be, everyone likes him as well thats why i go with the Superman nickname until i think of a better one.) twice in one season especially if you beat them early there is no way that they are coming away from that second game as losers. Now if only the Pat's can make the Bears look as bad as the Jets my Packers will be sitting pretty setting up a great match up at the end of the year with the Bears that of course is if the Packers can handle the Pat's themselves, which if you ask me i think that will be a great game i think the Pat's and the Packers are really similar but i think the Pack have a little better Defense. Now for the big news of the day the firing of Josh McDaniels which i think was pretty good call, ya he started off great last year but since then has done nothing but cost the Broncos money and 2 of their best offensive weapons (but that was when he first arrived) which they thought was fine they thought he could coach up Orton a little (which he kinda did) and they thought they could draft well and coach up the team i think he thought he was just as good as he former head coach (the hoodie) but i got news for you Josh you aren't even close to being half the coach the hoodie is. I dont know if this will spark the Broncos like it has the Cowboys and the Vikings, but i think it is a move in the right direction for them.
Not much as far as the NBA goes tonight since i don't have NBA league pass or anything like that i could not catch any games, but the Heat won again, but they played the Bucks who don't have a winning record, still to me they are yet to prove themselves, yes the Cav's game was a big step in the right direction as i have said before but still they have yet to beat any team with talent. The Hawks pull off a win without Joe Johnson who happens to be on my fantasy team, i was so hurt when he got hurt he is such a big contributor to my team i dont have many huge names on my Fantasy team but i am first in my division and one win away from being 1st over all in my league. Since it was a dull night in the NBA ill talk about my fantasy team and my last match up. So ill first let you know who is on my team: At the Point i have Chauncey Billups and Tony Parker, strong Forward i got Rudy Gay, Boris Diaw, Dorell Wright and as i mentioned Joe Johnson, my power forwards are (probably my best player) Dirk Nowitzki, Luis Scola, and Andray Blatche, my centers are Tyson Chandler, Marc Gasol, So thats my team i was optimistic when the season started it was my first time actually playing fantasy basketball, last season i played but i kinda forgot about my team, this season i planned on taking it serious, but after the draft i was iffy on my team, i know i have a lot of good players but i was not to sure on how the scoring was done, once i figured it out i was pretty pleased with my team. for those of you who dont know how the scoring works in fantasy basketball, there are 8 categories the are Field goal %, Free throw %, 3 pointers, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, and points. They add up all those stats from your team through out the week, and for every category you win you get a win and for everyone you lose you get a loss. so far this year after 6 match ups i am 31-8-1. My last match up ended yesterday i was playing a team who was sub par they were under .500 and i thought that this match up would be the one i could gain some ground on the team that is in first place in the League, But the it did not start as i thought, i mean after the first day i usually am tied or maybe even losing but usually its 4-4 after the first couple days then i start to pull away, but this match up i fell behind early and for the first 4 days of the match up i was behind 2-6, i was really not having the best week, Parker was having a bad couple of games averaging under ten points, so as i sat there with 3 days left in the match i was hoping for a 4-4 tie by weeks end, BUT things turned around big time for me, and i ended the match on the winning end 6-2 which i could not be more happy about. i am sure you guys are tiered of hearing about my bogus fantasy basketball team, so ill let you guys go for now, tomorrow ill come back with my Bowl Blog, as well as my bowl picks some stuff on the NFL and next weeks games and a look back at the year 2010 in sports as well as a look back at the NFL season thus far.

My last match up ended yesterday i was playing a team who was sub par they were under .500 and i thought that this match up would be the one i could gain some ground on the team that is in first place in the League, But the it did not start as i thought, i mean after the first day i usually am tied or maybe even losing but usually its 4-4 after the first couple days then i start to pull away, but this match up i fell behind early and for the first 4 days of the match up i was behind 2-6, i was really not having the best week, Parker was having a bad couple of games averaging under ten points, so as i sat there with 3 days left in the match i was hoping for a 4-4 tie by weeks end, BUT things turned around big time for me, and i ended the match on the winning end 6-2 which i could not be more happy about. i am sure you guys are tiered of hearing about my bogus fantasy basketball team, so ill let you guys go for now, tomorrow ill come back with my Bowl Blog, as well as my bowl picks some stuff on the NFL and next weeks games and a look back at the year 2010 in sports as well as a look back at the NFL season thus far.
better late then never?
So after watching all the games this weekend i guess i'll start with college basketball. Saturday was the Butler vs. Duke rematch of last years title game, which wasn't the game it was last year, which i knew would be the case before the fact, like i have been saying Duke it s a monster and lets face it Butler isn't the same as last year without Hayword gone and the rest of the team just not playing up to there potential, i mean the first half was better then the 2nd obviously but, i think Duke is a little to much to handle for anyone this year. (knock on wood) Plus Duke has the best point guard in college basketball right now, in Kyrie Irving who went for 21 points 2 rebounds 2 dimes and 1 steal (3-6 from beyond the arc, and 6-6 at the free throw line) also the Blue Devils got a huge help from Nolan Smith who went for 24 points 2 rebounds 1 dime and 1steal (only 1-6 from beyond the arc but went 13-14 from the line). I was more interested in the second game on ESPN's schedule that night, the Illinois vs. Gonzaga, i picked Illinois to win, i think it was obvious that i think they are a great team by my last post on them and i pretty much saw the same thing Saturday night except that it looked like much more of a team effort, i know when i ranted about how great they looked i mentioned 3 players which is a pretty good amount but i mean the whole team was in double digits and D.J. Richardson had a good game with 15 points 5 rebounds 2 dimes and 1steal (2 of 5 beyond the arc and 1-2 from the line) it would have appeared this was gunna be a good game but like the Duke game i knew this one wouldn't be to great i saw the Zag's play earlier this season and i just wasn't as impressed. (also i picked them to win a game earlier this season against an unranked opponent and they lost ending my streak on the ESPN's streak for the cash game.)
There were some college football game but since they outcomes were not to my liking except the Oregon game, I am opting to not write about them, except to say i am semi excited about the upcoming bowl games (as excited as a HUGE playoff lobbyist for a playoff can be) i am excited to hopefully see Cam Newton FINALLY fall, and i am excited to watch TCU vs. Wisconsin as well as a few others but i will do a whole separate post on that being that there is so many games and actually a lot of interesting match ups.
So that leaves us with the NFL and yesterdays games and tonight's games. I once again for the 3rd time in a row i pick 2 dogs to win like always it looks great for me through 3 quarters and then just like that my dogs throw it away and leave me wondering what the hell just happened i mean seriously the Lions controlled the lead the whole game just like i posted "they'll keep it close till the 4th quarter and Jay Cutler lose them the game" well once again i am left wishing that they only play 3 quarters instead of 4! Granted when i was watching the TV update the scores seeing the bears had tied it up but that the Lions had a 1st and goal at the Bears 9 yard line i figured great we will go up 7 here and get the momentum our way and staying that way for the rest of the game, and we would just be able to edge them out, BUT of course they are the Lions so it doesn't happen like that they cant even gain more then 2 yards and settle for a field goal. Not to mention the bogus roughing the passer call, which made an impact on the game it did not necessarily change the out come of the game but it made an impact, but i guess from my previous 3 weeks of picking them and them letting me down i guess i should have known. Which brings me to my next underdog pick which was the Buc's over the Falcons which also ALMOST happened, this one i felt a little more comfortable with my pick especially when the Buc's had the lead in the 4th because they are a much better team then the Lions...buuutt....since I picked them as my dog of the week of course they give me those 3 great quarters then BAM rip my heart out in the 4th! I should have known just like the Lions i should have known that my other pick would end up just the same. Now enough about my underdogs as far as the rest of my picks go, i put up some picks on facebook which i wemt 6-3 for and i hope to go 7-3 when the Pats hopefully beat the Jets. As far as my other picks which i made on ESPN's pigskin pick 'em game i went 11-4 not including the game tonight which will hopefully make me 12-4 for the week which is ok i guess 66% not a pass by any means but still pretty good, i really should have done better i should have known the Colts are playing their worst ball of ever, but the game i did not see coming was the Raiders beating the Bolts and not just beating them but doing it in December which has literally never happened in the Rivers era in San Diego and they really needed to win out with there horrible start to the season for them to think playoffs and now i think they as well as the Colts (yea that is right i said the Colts) might not make it this year. I know that the Steelers vs. Ravens was a huge game a great one at that but i didn't catch it because i was watching the season finale of Boardwalk Empire because my DVR was recording 2 things at once so i was not able to switch the channel but i am sure it will be on the NFL networks replay this weeks so i'll get to catch the actual game instead of just watching the gamecast animation on ESPN.com. But i think the biggest game of the week is the game tonight. I think that tonight's game will be a much better game then the first time they met both these teams have changed since then and while people may think the Jets have much more talent on their roster, i think that this is like they have been saying "Classic" Pat's with Brady running the offense and trying to keep them on the field as long as possible and the hoodie (as Jim Rome calls him) coaching up the defense, i think they are much better on the defensive side of the ball now that it is late in the season and Bill has had some time to work with them. Also playing a great coach like Bill 2 times a year is never a good thing for the other team. That is all i got for now, i am gunna write a little more on the NBA later and my Bowl blog, as well as a few bad beats i recently took at the poker table i mean bad beats!

what to watch?
Tonight was a tough one when picking what to watch espeically if you have the NFL network. I was watching the Heat game obviously. and the first half wasnt bad, and it was key that D-Wade did do good in the first half and the role players as well as LBJ who hit his first jumper of the night he ended the first half with 14 points which wasnt bad wade was play well and bosh heated up at the end of the half (no pun intended) but i really didnt expect the second half to start the way it did i expected the Cav;s to come out a little stronger then they did, but instead they came out weak and LeBron i think wanted to make a statement going for 24 points in the 3rd quarter and 38 total points 5 rebounds 8 dimes and 1 steal 1 block not bad at all for a homecoming, if you ask me all the great players always step up big when in a place where they are hated i dont know what it is but i wouldnt want to motivate talent such as LeBron and D-Wade and Bosh, yes i know this was biggest for LBJ but you better believe it was huge for his teammate as well. I think this was a great game for them as far as using it to move forward in the right directions. I think it is safe to say that this is the Heat team we expected to see coming out of the gate, although they still are yet to beat a quality team i think this is a step in the right direction. If you ask me i think the Heat need a point guard like the Celtics have in Rondo or like the Suns Steve Nash they need someone who can get LeBron and D-Wade there looks and not have to worry about scoring so much himself worry more about controlling the ball and having a lot of basketball smarts and also should try and learn as much as possible from LBJ and Wade as well as much about how they play as possible, yes it is also important to be able to spread the floor but i think right now Wade is worrying to much about LeBron getting his and not focusing on his game as i have said before.
So after the Heat game turned boring i switched over to catch the second half of the UCLA vs. Kansas game. When i turned it on it was the start of the second half and the game was tied at 45, as i watched UCLS take a small lead it just seemed that their freshmen Josh Smith was to much inside for Kansas to handle he was rebounding and scoring at will, also a lot of that probably came cause the pressure was more on honeycutt (who was amazing going for 33 points 9 rebound 4 dimes 2 steals and 1 block) who also had an amazing game. Kansas was shooting poorly from the free throw line which also helped UCLA out in the start of the second half, but Kansas is a truly selfless basketball team not caring who gets the points as long as they get them and as long as they get the lead the Morris brother were a huge part of the game for Kansas Marcus more so with his brother fouling out, but it just seemed that Kansas was able to have more production from more people instead of 2 guys having to do all the work. I wont say that it didnt work for UCLA i mean it seemed like this one was heading into overtime when honeycutt hit the game tying 3 pointer with i think 7 seconds left on the clock and Kansas gets the ball down the court and almost has it stolen but then picks up a foul with .7 left on the clock hitting the first pretty much sealed the deal for the Jayhawks to make it 64 straight at home.
As if that wasn't enough to pick from you also like i said if you had the NFL network you coulda watched the Eagles beat the Texans, but if not you coulda enjoyed a double overtime in state rivalry game in ASU vs #24 ranked AU and watched my sundevils pull off the upset congrats ASU. Also glad the Lobos are playing well i know they lost one early but thats expected they do have some talent thats still waiting to enter the picture but i think we have another NCAA birth headed our way this season if i didnt just jinx it haha. well thats all for today there are so many great games to watch this weekend i will for sure be busy and for sure have LOTS to post about so PLEASE come on back tomorrow ill touch on the college football for the weekend talk some NBA as well as NFL.

homecoming
So today has finally come, "King" James will return to Cleveland and play the Cav's, they better get air force one to bring the Heat in and take them outta town, cause i think crazy Cav's fan might be looking for some revenge on "Queen" James as they call him now in Cleveland, also i heard on twitter they are trying to start a laugh at Lebron instead of boo Lebron, i could not disagree more...BOO THIS MAN!!! lol but for real people boo him, heckel him, tell him how you really feel, (i'm sure that will include some death threats or threats on people he knows and loves.) I really think he has no idea how bad its going to be, i mean sports fans can be pretty bad when your just the visiting team. Imagine if you cheated on your girlfriend left without saying on the day that rent is due, and so she is left homeless and heartbroken THEN picture having to work with here 4 older brothers a few of her best friends (one who has always been madly in love with her) and her father. See what i mean not so inviting. But anyways i think that D Wade needs to get hot early as well as Bosh that way it will take the pressure off of Lebron, like they say everyone will be feeling the pressure just not like him (with the exception of D Wade cause he is an assassin) that was from sportscenter last night lol the whole assassin part. On another NBA note the Lakers have lost 4 in a row, ya i know your probably thinking say whaaat but its true, but mainly i would say cause Pau is not playing up to his potential at all, Bynum is still hurt, Odom has been pretty good i think last night he went for 25 points and i think something like 11 boards 2 dimes (assists) a steal and 2 blocks, and Kobe did get his points he had 23 on 10-24 from the floor 0-3 beyond the arc and 7-7 at the free throw line. I agree he is trying to be the Kobe of old and try and take over on the floor when they are doing bad offensively which isnt a bad idea he just can't force the shot or take a bad shot just like Phil said after the game they took a lot of bad shots, but no need to worry they are the Lakers they will be fine especially come post season where i look for them to 3-peat with out Shaq. That is unless my Mavericks can finally figure the post season out and play as well there as they do in the regular season.
Man last nights Michigan State Duke game was pretty good, not as good as a March Madness game obviously or as good as the Goergetown game the previous night but still a decent game, even though in the first half the Spartans looked as sloppy with the ball as does someone trying to hold on to a greased up pig, haha not really but 12 turnovers in the first half is pretty bad especially when like i said your playing a super power Duke team. No not as good as the early 90's Duke or the 2001 Duke but still a REALLY good Duke team, granted Dukes shooting in the first half kept the Spartans in it a little bit, if not for Dukes freshmen Kyrie Irving who went for 31 points 6 boards 4 dimes and 2 steals 2 blocks thats right i said FRESHMEN can you believe that (and next year they add Austin Rivers) its a good thing too cause Dukes usual scores Smith and Singler did not get off to that great of a start, but they have no problem giving the freshmen the ball i mean why would they when stuff like that happens. Dont get me wrong it wasnt like Singler didnt have a huge impact on the game i mean talk about getting hot when you need to it was right when Michigan state cut the lead to single digits that he hit back to back 3's to give them a comfortable lead. I mean the Spartans shot lights out 49% but in all they had 20 turnovers which turned out to be 28 points for the blue devils.
Thats all for now ill write more about College hoops and NBA maybe some football or golf when i get back im off to play some Poker, shoot maybe ill even write some on how my action is at the tables if i do good and if you all are that lucky lol JK JK/

some thoughts
Is it just me oir this year in the NHL is it all about offense i mean really are there only rookie goalies or maybe defense isn't as big as it used to be, i know it seems smaller and faster more offense based this year (to me anyways im not hockey expert but im just saying) i mean seriously i remember when 5 goals was unheard of, and now its like every game i watch or see the score of its at least 5 to 3 or something. I'm sure it is good for ratings and stuff like that but i would think defensive minded big bang em around teams would also be good for ratings cause everyone loves seeing big hits and such, i dont know thats just my thoughts.
I dont think that anyone will be surprise if Pat Riley takes over the Heat coaching job i mean everyone has been hinting towards that outcome since even before the big 3 inked there contract i mean seriously, BUT i dont think it would be a bad move i think itd be the perfect move. That way he can get them all calmed down and all focused on how best to compliment eachother on the court instead of D Wade worrying about taking 2 shots in a row cause LBJ is on the floor with him. I mean really though Wade is right him and LBJ are the kinda player that just feels it they dont sit there and think of what they're gunna do or how many times in a row they have taken a shot or what not before they didnt need to think about having othere optition on the floor that are just as good of a call as himself, I just think Riley has been there before worked with superstars and made it work he is a big personality and i think he could make things much better.
I know last weeks games were not that hard to pick right, but i think i did a pretty good job (12-4) i really shoulda had 13 though i really thought my Packers were gunna pull it off, i know that if it woulda went to OT they woulda got the W, well really what hurts us every week (even though we have been winning) is the fact that we lost Ryan Grant i know Finely is a huge mis match but really with out a run game it really does hurt the pass attack even though Aaron Rodgers is Mr. Executive clutch himself, still if they had Grant i think they would have at least 2 more wins then they do now. Anyways on another note, the Chargers came away with a huge win sunday night, i dont understand why everyone was picking the Colts to win this one, not only are they pretty banged up and without alot of there starters but its the second half of the season when the Chargers seem to be unbeatable and not to mention Rivers has taken (well before this game) 4 of the past 5 meetings between him and Payton, now he can make it 5. Another game i was happy to see go my way was the Rams Broncos game, again i know Denver has some good weapons but i just think they are very well coached i guess is what it is, yeah i know Mcdaniels is a good quarterback coach and pretty good offensive mind but i just dont see what he has done to HELP the BRoncos out in the past 2 years i mean really all he has done is get rid of there 2 best players, and get fine $100,000, i guess he didnt learn the first time they got caught video taping.
I know that it is a little to early to tell now, but i think that come march and the NCAA tournament i believe that Illinois will be a team to watch out for, i think they will go deep if they can stay healthy, they have 2 dead on 3 point shooters as well as a great big man who has great range offensivly and has a big presents on the defensive end being 7ft and has a little bit a of bulk on him for how tall he is. I was really impressed with them when i watched them last night in the Big 10 ACC challenge. I also saw Ohio state play Florida state and the only thing that really impressed me in the game is FSU's deffense i mean they were down nearly 20 and then they made a huge defensive stand i swear every shot OSU put up it got swated right back at em, if FSU could of hit more then 25% of their shots in the first half i think that they could have pulled a huge upset. Also if you like college basketball tonight there is a great game Michigan State vs. Duke, i think the blue devils can pull it out but i still think MSU is a great team and they will fore sure be around late in March as well.
I wanted to cover a few things in the upcoming week in the NFL, just talk about a couple games i think could be great games but also two huge upsets. I mean that is the theme of this season is it not, this year literally any given sunday any team can win. Which brings me to my first upset of the week. I'm sure you can guess if you have read my previous picks and know that im gunna say the Lions will beat the Bears this week, yes thats right i said it the Lions WILL beat the Bears, the y way i see it is The Lions have played pretty much everyone this year REALLY close, so i think they keep it close till the 4th quarter and Jay Cutler shows everyone why people still are not 100% sold on the Bears. My 2nd upset pick will be the Bucs over the Falcons, yeah i know this one is kinda out there but still, think about it the Bucs are coming off a tough loss everyone is saying how they havent beat anyone to really prove they are a good team. What better statement then to beat the "best" team in the NFL at the moment, plus they Bucs are at home so that gives them a much better chance to come away with a huge win, i think they have a break out game on the ground and Freeman keeps the ball in there hands and steals a close close win. Thats all i am gunna say about Sundays games for now i'll finish my picks probably around friday. Well i'll give you one more i also think that the Bills will come away with a win against the Vikings.
