?-0 this week

I am starting to think that me taking the weekend off is a good luck for teams i am pulling for during the weekend. Last weekend it was the Knicks and this weekend it was the Lobos and the Mav's, of course the Knicks win last weekend was big but this win for the Lobos was huge I know it was at home in the Pit but handing #9 BYU their 2nd loss of the season was awesome. The Mav's had a huge win this weekend over a good Hawks team, that was their 4th in a row and tonights win over the Wizards was their 5th, they will be tested in the next 2 games though they will have to go to New York and to Boston and come away with wins if they want to continue this streak, and i believe they will especially if Tyson Chandler continues to play the way he has been over the last couple games, and Dirk gets back to his old self (which i think he just might be, tonight he had 24 points which is a good sign) I think also once Stojakovic gets in the lineup things will only get better. I will get back to basketball a little later.

While me not writing this weekend (not by choice if I could have I would have posted at least once a day with all that was going on in sports this weekend.) brought luck to most of the "good guys" this weekend it sure was no where near Tiger. As you probably read my last post on Friday I was saying how I thought that there was no way that Tiger wouldn't come back and be the old Tiger, and I stand by that statement I am sure he will be back to his old self at some point this year. Does that mean I think he will be the exact same Tiger just dominating every tournament he plays in, no I don't think that will be the case, but I know that he is too good at what he does and too competitive at heart for him to settle with being that guy that is there just to collect a pay check. I think that the way he started this tournament was a great sign of whats to come in the future. I think all the pressure and speculations and all the people questioning his greatness really has him second guessing himself and I really think in the past year and half or however long its been I think he has forgotten just how great he can be, and I think once he gets that first win everyone better watch out cause he might just go on a tear. Also just wanted to say another golfer i am super excited about and is becoming one of my new favorite golfers i Rickie Fowler, young guy but has a great game if he can stay focused this year I really see him doing good things. Obviously Vegas has been playing outstanding golf and he too will be worth keeping an eye on this season.

It was the NBA's first Sunday games on ABC this weekend, talk about two great games, they don't get much better then the Heat v. the Thunder and the Celtics v. the Lakers. I think I was a little more excited for the first game then for the second, only because they are two of the most exciting teams to watch. The game did not disapoint by any means, just as one team seemed to get something going the other team would get it in gear and grab the lead back, the Heat's big 3 might have been a little rusty at the start of the game since it was the first time they had all played together since Jan. 12th and it showed maybe not so much on the offensive end, but they were kinda shakey defensively too but they managed to weather the storm and take a 3 point lead into half time, although to me it seemed the Thunder had the better first half. I believe it was last week after the Heat lost to the Knicks I was talking about why they keep going to Chalmers for game winners, I am not trying to take anything away from the guy but in my eyes if its not going to be any of the big 3 then why wouldn't you make it Eddie House, I believe he did recently miss one but I still like my odds with House, to me that's just what he does best he is to good of a shooter to miss more then he would make in that situtation especially cause the other team will have to pay most attetion to the big 3 giving House more then likely a very good look. That is what happened Sunday and Eddie nailed the shot, just like I see him doing many more times this season, and if he continues to play with these guys maybe a season or two more who knows. In a game that really could have gone either way I really think that the Thunder struggling to knock down their field goal attempts came back to haunt them in the end. They ended up shooting 40% from the field where as Miami shot 52% I really think this was a big reason they lost, cause also with all those misses a lot of those are gunna turn into rebounds for the other team which then creates other chances for them to score. I think this was a huge win for the Heat, for one it was a close game and they are horrible in games decided by 8 points or less if I am not mistaken i believe they are now 2-8 in those games, Sunday being their 2nd one. That really was the biggest reason another one could be now they have a little bit more trust from the big 3 towards the other guys that are gunna have to step up at the end of games to hit those big shots. The second game of the day was the rematch of last years NBA finals and of the 08 finals. The Lakers really started out great in this game but as the game wore on I think the Celtics started to want it a little more then the Lakers did, to me one way to really see if that is the case (other than watching the game) is to check out who won the battle on the glass, who ever won the rebounding battle to me is the team that wanted it more. I know the Celtics have a lot of big guys, but so do the Lakers and yes I know that Odom is more of an outside shooter but that doesn't mean he can't pull down some more rebounds. I think that Bynum should really focus more on pulling down rebounds on the offensive and defensive ends. Gasol, Bynum, and Odom combined for 18 rebounds where as KG, Shaq, and Perk combined for 25 and those guys did it in less minutes then the big men for the Lakers. I think that if the Lakers are gunna 3-peat Pau will need to play like he was at the start of the season and then as far as Bynum goes once he is back 100% healthy I really hope he plays to his full potential.

Ok and now for my picks for tomorrows 4 NBA games, just in case you didn't know the title of this post is in reference to what my record is going to be this week although I hope I didn't jinx myself by being so cocky. You know what they say...You can't win 'em all unless you win the first one, so without further adieu my first 4 picks of the week. The Wizards are on the road seeking their first road win of the season against the Hornets, the way that the Hornets are playing lately and the way the Wizards play on the road makes this one an easy call for me, I'll take the Hornets over the Wizards in order for the Wizards to have any chance in this game they need Blatche to get out of this mini slump he is in and get back to where he was a few weeks ago. Next is the team with the NBA's best record this season the Spurs travel to Portland to take on the Trailblazers in what should be a good game I know the Blazers have been hit hard by injury but they play decent defense and try and get as much offense as they can with Roy and Camby out, still the way Tony Parker and the Spurs as a whole are playing its really hard to pick against them which is why I am going with the road team and taking the Spurs over the Blazers. The Celtics fresh off the big win in L.A. now travel to Sac town to play the Kings, now that the Celtics have Perk back I think it just makes them that much better, also Shaq coming back the healthy this team is the more dangerous they are, obviously they are dangerous without the guys they added in the offseason but once West and J. O'Neal get out there everyone else better watch out, sorry a little off topic there I am taking the road team in this one as well Celtics over the Kings. Last game on the schedule for tomorrow is the Rockets v. the Lakers in L.A. the Rockets are a much better team then people give them credit for this year, they have had some great wins although the Lakers are coming off a big big loss to the Celtics and I think it really opened their eyes in a way that hopefully lit a fire under their butts for once this season and I am hoping we see a much more driven much more focused Laker team then we have been seeing as of late, I think the rest of the Lakers need to take a page out of Blake Griffin's playbook and just play every game like it was their last, if they did that they would no doubt in my mind 3-peat I look for a new Laker team to show up tomorrow and I am taking them to win big at home. One more quick note as far as the Laker are concerned I know they need more agressive play from Bynum and Gasol but also they need Artest and Fisher to start putting up more points, because Kobe can't do it all himself, yes Bynum and Gasol are great optition inside but your gunna need more points from out side shooters, if Artest was playing like this last year there is no way L.A. wins the title. Anyways im rambling but thats all for today. Tomorrow I'll be on in the morning to do my 2nd superbowl post as well as talk college hoops a lot more.

Nix the pick for the Knicks

The reason i say that isnt because i would have picked against the Knicks in tonights game, and i am not saying that because its after the fact and they won, obviously if you follow my picks you know how much i like the Knicks it just seemed that as of late everytime i would pick them they would not follow through for me, so today i tried something different, i didnt make any picks and look what happened, obviously i am not going to always do this but there were not many games today so i thought id wait till after they were over to get on and post. I feel so stupid, earlier in the season i had Tyson Chandler on my fantasy team, but then i needed more dimes, and scoring so i switched him for like 5 different players finally resting on DeRozan who isnt bad at all, but the way Chandler has been playing these past few games i am really starting to miss him in my line up, speaking of the Mav's and my fantasy team Dirk had another quiet tonight with only 18 points, before he got injured he was averaging 24 points a game now i believe its around 18 or 19 a game, i do look for that to turn around in the future i think that adding Stojakovic to the lineup will help Dirk maybe get some easier looks and he might draw less double teams, all this riding on how Stojakovic performs obviously, but having another scorer that the defense will have to account for will help for sure but as good as Dirk is i dont think he will struggle for long (knock on wood!) and once he finds his shot the Mav's will be that much better, they have 4 out of their last 5 and three in a row with a subpar Dirk granted they werent that tough of games....well actually they were all tough games except maybe the New Jersey game, but i will say without the Melo trade talks the Nets do looks slightly more focused and rightfully so i am sure that was distracting not knowing if  you'll be here tomorrow or now, but anyways the Nets game was their easiest game of the 5 game stretch in that stretch they beat the Lakers, the Nets, a much improved Clippers team, and then a underrated Rockets team. This is a totally different team with Dirk out there as well as Chandler coming back and beign a huge part of what they are doing on both sides of the ball not just on the defensive end. If the Mav's can continue to play like this i cant wait for the playoffs! I know they gave up a big lead but they still held off the Rockets for the win which is more then the Heat can say. To me the Heat look like they have taken a step backwards in their more recent games, i know they have been with out at least one of the big 3 for each of those games but if you go by tonights game they really need their roll players to step up, i mean LeBron is gunna have off nights and when he does D-Wade will need some help, I know LBJ had 24 points but that came from 7-24 from the floor if not for his freethrows it woulda been worse. The one guy that did step up other then Wade tonight was James Jones who was 5-8 from beyond the arc, obviouslty that was nothing compared to Flash and his 34 points 1 steal 5 dimes and 16 rebounds for the night he did his best to put the team on his back with Mike Lowry (LBJ) having a down night, but if the Heat are gunna make any sort of run in the playoffs they are gunna need to fix a few things. 1. Obviously would be other people have to score not just the big 3, other then the 3 people i have already mentioned only 2 others scored and neither was in double figures everyone else had 0 points. 2. One thing i think will be a huge issue come playoff time is who do they have to put on other teams big men, i know Bosh is a big guy but he cant bang down low with Howard, Noah (when healthy), any of the big men for the Celtics, and to me i see this being a huge problem i mean hasnt LBJ learned anything from his experience in the post season with the Cav's, i know that with Bosh back they will be a much better team and obviously people have overlooked how important he is to what this team does, since they dont have anyone that can get it done night in and night out coming off the bench they will need the big 3 to be healthy and on the court every night. 3. They need to figure out who they are gunna go to late in the game, or they need their bench players to step up their level of play so that LBJ and D-Wade know they can trust their teammates which obviously they dont, its either that or they just havent figured out who that guy is, obviously tonight you would think that guy was Wade but he went ice cold in the final quarter and LBJ started to pick it up, but they point is they will need others to step up and they will need to become a complete team in order for them to close games like these out, and not get outscored by 14 in the 4th quarter. I wouldnt say you should freak out and fear for the worst, obviously like i said there has been some injuries and the big 3 have not all been on the court together for this little skid they are going through right now, once Bosh is back then we will be able to see if they are the team that won 22 of 23 or are they the team or are they the team thats 9-13. All that being said i will now give you my picks for tomorrows games. The Nets v. the Pacers while i did just  say how focused they Nets are now that the Melo thing is over with i still like the Pacers, and especially like the way former Lobo Danny Granger is playing, i think will have a big night and i think the Pacers will pull out the win on their home court. The Girzzlies play the Sixers in what should be a good game, both have good shooters but i think that Marc Gasol will continue playing great and him and Randolph will be the difference makers in this game, the shooters will have good games but i think they will win the battle down low and in the end win the game on the road. The Bucks v. Raptors now that i have a fantasy player on the Raptors i bet you all think ill pick them to win...well i was thinking about it cause they are at home but i think the Bucks are a better team and are coming off a big win so i think the spirits are high in the Bucks locker room and i look for that to carry them to another W. The next match up is the one i WISH was gunna be on ESPN but unfortunately its not, and that game is the Knicks at the Hawks, both teams playing great this year, the Knicks were struggling but they are coming off a huge win against the Heat at home, that being said i am taking the Hawks they are 14-7 at home while the Knicks are just 12-12 on the road, Amare will have a huge game but i am not sure it will be enough to beat the Hawks i think Joe Johnson will wanna have a much better outting then he did last night so i look for him to have a strong game as well as Horford and Smith, although i wouldnt drop dead of a heart attack if the Knicks won. The Nuggest travel to play the Cav's and while the Nuggets road record is sub .500 the Cav's home record is even worse, and like i said when these 2 teams played a week ago or something like that, with the amount of points the Nuggets score a game they could end up beating the Cav's but more then 50 like the Lakers, but now that Jamison is playing better for them it might be a good game, i still say the Nuggets win by at least 18. The Piston travel to Miami to take on the Heat, and if T-Mac can keep up what he has done the past few games i really like the Pistons chances here, but i know the Heat have a bad taste in their mouth and i know LeBron will wanna make up for his performance tonight against the Knicks so i look for him and Flash to have huge games, and i hope Miller or House or someone can figure out a way to get on the board as well then i think the Heat will coast to a W, but if not and all the sudden one of the 2 bad boys gets cold then the Heat are in big trouble as we saw the result of what that will do to them in tonights game. All that being said as well as the Pistons seem to play teams with records above .500 i will take the home team, the Heat to get back to their winning ways tomorrow night. Another great game on the schedule is the Magic at the Bulls, the Bulls are great at home with a record of 21-4 and while the Magic have so many ways they can put the ball in the basket i think the Bulls defense will really trouble the Magic and be the deciding factor in this game, i think Rose will continue to be amazing and i think that one of the most overlooked people on this Bulls team is Deng, his defense and the way he seems to always make the ones he has to, just a player thats importance cant be measured in points, so with all that im going with the home team Bulls to really come away with a big win against a quality team. The Wizards in OKC to face the Thunder, well the Thunder are a great team and the Wizards are just horrible on the road 0-21 and playing a team as good as the Thunder i dont see them getting that first road win tomorrow, espeically the way Durrant has been playing not only the past few games but all season, really his whole career but you already knew that, unless Blatche gets outta this funk he has been in i dont see the Wizards able to put up enough points to beat the Thunder...even if Blatche has a great game i still think it will be hard for them to beat the Thunder, once again im riding with the home team. the T-Wolves go on the road to Utah where the play the Jazz, now based on these 2 teams previous performances i would say that the T-Wolves have a great shot at winning this one, i know the Jazz probably are wanting to make a statement after there last home game against the Spurs, and they are a team that seemed to be very talented but the only one that has be consistant for them is Deron Williams, unless Milsap and Jefferson show up and show up big tomorrow i think the T-Wolves have this one, and thats who i am going with, will call it an upset alert, my first upset pick of the night, ill take the road team the T-Wolves to get it done in Utah. The Bobcats play the Warriors and now that i know never to pick against the Bobcats i should pick them but i am rolling with the home team and taking the Warriors to come out with the W i do however hope that Augustin and Diaw have great games for the Bobcats, and i hope that Wright has a great game for the Warriors. The Kings take a little road trip to play the Lakers in Staples Center, i am taking the home team here i think the Lakers are just getting things all worked out and easing everyone in to 110% mode, and they are about there i look for them to start to really impress and silence everyone out there saying they're too old, or they cant play defense, or they are gunna lose to the Celtic in the finals, and i know i have said i see the Lakers 3-peating beating th Celtics again but lets be honest here, they both have to get there first...i was gunna say the Celtics have to get there first but obviously so do the Lakers, the Celtics just have a little tougher road then the Laker, obvously the Lakers have to get past the team who currently hold the best record the Spurs but thats still down the road a ways. The Celtics travel to play the Suns and i made the mistake of taking the Suns in there last game and i will not do the same this time (haha now that i said that watch they will win) but the way the Celtics are playing right now they look like the team to beat in the East and i dont see them losing that often throughout the rest of the season, i for sure dont see them losing tomorrow.

I dont know where anyone else stands on this but i was really glad to see Tiger playing much better then he was last year, obviously he still has a ways to go to get back to where he was before, and i know so many people wonder if he ever will get back to that level of play and if you ask me i think there is no doubt that he will get back to being the Tiger of old, i mean lets face it he isnt dealing with a injury. Granted what he went through last year had to take its toll on the guy, im sure he couldnt get in nearly as much golf work as he would have liked to, and im sure it was harder then any of us know to focus on golf in a time like that. Still now that he has time to really look at how his swing has changed and has time to work on changing it back there is no doubt that he will get it back. I mean today was a great start, no bogeys...obviously he could have putted much better i think he missed at least 3 birdie puts, im assuming they were all on par 5's cause he kept saying he coulda done better on the par 5's...tomorrow i plan on actually watching him play instead of just watching the Sportscenter highlights. I think Rocco was right when he said that Tiger back at his best is great for the game of golf i couldnt agree more, i am not saying that golf has to have Tiger, but he just raises the level of play and when is people playing their best golf something thats bad for the sport. I really hope Tiger has a great rest of the weekend i hope he makes it back to the old Tiger sooner then later.

Man how do you think Vince Young feels after making the Titans pick between him and the coach and them picking the coach...THEN the coach saying na im good i dont wanna come back, so you figure oh then they are obviously taking VY back...yea well think again, they have no intrest in him coming back, words from the owner. I still would love to see Vince in the Black and Silver next year i really think he could make great things happen there, him and some defensive players in the draft and they will be even better this coming year IF all that were to happen. Will Fisher coach somewhere else? I would think so the question is where?? Do they go after him in Dallas you would think Jerry would rather a big name guy then who he has or you think he has a diamond in the rough? All that remains to be seen in the offseason or next year if there even is a next year. I must say that i really hope they get this deal done, seriously i know the players say all it would take is health care but if thats all it would take are the owners really that ridiculous to where they would not give them the extra health care if they add 2 games? If that really is the case then thats seriously pathetic from the owners side, 2 games is what an extra $500 million right? Seriously that wont buy some extra health care...But if you ask me there are so many onther things in play here, and it obviously comes down to money on both sides, both sides want more, while neither side needs more. I sure hope they get the deal done cause i dont know what id do with no football next year AND maybe even no basketball! I would not know what to do with myself.

Points galore

Tonight was a night of high scoring in both the NBA and in one of the biggest games in college basketball all year. I was able to watch the SDSU v. BYU game since at the house i am at during the week doesnt have the CBS sports channel which i believe is the channel it was on, but that was one of my correct picks of the night i picked the Cougars to beat the Aztecs at home and they did with Jimmer leading the way with his 3 40 point game in the past 4 games ending with 43, and scoring more then 60% of his teams points for their biggest win of the year, handing SDSU their first loss of the year. I really wish i coulda seen this game BUT Jimmer and the Cougars play their next here against the Lobos so i am gunna try my hardest to be there and see Jimmer in person, he is out of this world he can shoot the ball from literally anywhere on the court and be triple teamed at the same time and drain every shot, and thats not an exaggeration at all. Anyways back to the NBA where i went 7-3 with my picks for tonight i am really surprised the Hawks lost to the Bucks maybe Joe Johnson's injury was bothering him a little tonight he only had 15 points, i am not sure if he aggravated his injury from earlier or what and since i didnt actually get to see the game i am not sure if this is true but i wouldnt be surprised cause 15 is an off night for him if you ask me, and i know they have other guys that can score in Crawford and Horford Smith even but tonight they just couldnt finish getting outscored 34-15 in the final quarter of the game, i dont care how good you are, and the Hawks are good, you cant drop a quarter that bad and expect to win. As far as the game that was on ESPN and i did get to watch, the Spurs really played near perfect the first half, they were killing Utah on the glass and with turnovers, they got great offense from Parker, but then in the second half Deron Williams turned into Jimmer and went crazy on the Spurs, ending the game with 39 points 29 of which came in the second half, and that was really what got the Jazz back in the game, and i know the Spurs are not selfish and spread the ball around and give everyone there looks, but Parker only had 3 or 4 shots in the seond half i wanna go with 3, and as hot as he started out i dont understand why they wouldnt at least give him the ball a little more give him a few more chances to drive in the lane and at least get to the foul line but hey im not saying Popovich doesnt know what he is doing obviously he does, and that is why they are so successful because they dont just feed one guy all game, even though i would argue that Parker was just as hot as Williams, but hey im just mad cause Parker is on my fantasy team, and Williams was on my opponents teams, and i would have minded as much if Williams wasnt the only one left playing for him tonight when i still have 4 guys playing, the reason for that is cause FG% is the only category i am not beating him in and i was beating him in it before halftime of this game, then he went crazy and only missed like 3 shots in the second half and killed me! I guess i jinx the Grizzlies by talking so badly about the Nets, but like Utah, Memphis struggles on the road, they are a talented team their guards especially they just need to figure out how to put it all together and come away with the ones they're supposed to win. Once again i pick against the Bobcats and once again they prove me wrong, only this time i was really iffy on this one too i just felt that they way Nash has been playing that he would be able to lead the Suns to a win, but now that he doesnt have much surrounding him i think its harder for the them to pick up those extra points from another scorer, again i dont know exactly cause i didnt see this game, it said it was gunna be on Fox sports at the same time as the game on ESPN but for whatever reason it wasnt.

Now i will do part one of many on the Superbowl i will break it down like i did the NFC championship game only a little more detailed and a few more categories in this one. I will start with the QuarterBack: This is a tough one both teams have such great quarterbacks that it really is tough to give the edge either way, both of them coming off not so great games, so i think both will want to show that last week is in their rearview mirror, and totally out of both their minds, that being said last time these 2 teams played Big Ben had a huge game with over 500 yards but that was also against a different defense, Big Ben is clutch in these kinda of games, but Aaron hasnt had a chance to prove him self on this kind of stage so for me personally i cant hold that against Aaron they both have the ability to get outside the pocket and make huge plays, they can both throw amazingly accurate on the run i do think Ben has a bigger arm while on the run, and maybe in general i mean he does out weigh Aaron by what 100 pounds, again this one is so tough but i really do think Aaron Rodger is so underated as QB (obviously everyones on the A-Rog bandwagon now, but where were they durning the season.) and you could argue that Ben is to but i think the Packers ask so much more of Aaron then the Steelers do of Ben and i think that Aaron comes through time and time again so i am gunna have to go with the Packers here but only by a nose hair. (Packers 1 Steelers 1/2) Wideouts: Now i know the Steelers have 2 great wideouts in Ward and Wallace, but the Packers have one of the most talented receiving cores in the National Football League, in Jennings, Driver, Jones, and Nelson i know James Jones is a hit or miss guy but i think he has stepped up big when it matters this post season (knock on wood!!) while Jennings is a more experienced version of Wallace and Driver and Ward cancel each other out, i think the Packers have the edge with Jones and Nelson and the backs out of the backfield also a huge factor but ill get to that in a while, i give the edge to the Packers. (Pack 2 Steelers 1/2) Runningbacks: The Packers have been excited about Starks since they got him but he has been hurt all season (im sure youve heard this a million times by now) and now we finally get to see why they like him so much, however he has yet to prove to be consistent over a long period of time he is a the kind of downhill tyoe of runner that can be successful against a defense like the Steeler, i know your probably thinking im crazy for that comment cause im sure you would rather have an elusive back against a team like this, but i still think that Starks will hammer it and hammer it until he breaks one and he sure is due to break out a big one and i look for it to happen in this game, im not saying he will run all over the Steelers cause we all know thats highly unlikely im just saying he will have at least one very good run in the game, all that being said Mendenhall is really underrated, everyone thought that he wouldnt be able to do anything against the Jets and he tore them up in the first half for over a 100 yards in the first half, so here i have to give the edge to the Steelers only cause Starks has not yet played enough for me to exactly figure him out, if however the Packers had Grant i think this would either be a tie or go to the Pack. (Packers 2 Steelers 1 1/2) O-Line: Now i know the Steelers have a very good O-Line i know one of them is hurt, but if you ask me the Packers O-line has done such a great job all year, they are a huge part of why this team is where they are, i know they are not the best in the league or anything but if you look at where they were last year to where they are this year last year they gave up the most sacks by a landslide i believe, and this year, so much better especially on the left side Aarons blind side, they did a pretty good job against Peppers last week and i look for the O-Line to continue to be great i checked out how many sacks each has given up over the years cause this one is to close to call and they were so close i say its a tie. (Packers 2 Steelers 1 1/2) Defense: Both defenses are outstanding, they both play a different style of defense and last week i surprised everyone when i picked the Packers D over the Bears, i dont know if i can do that this week even though the packers defense has been so great this whole post season, i know the Steelers have Troy back there flying around but the way the Packers secondary has been playing its hard to give the Steelers the edge in the part of the defense i know Polamalu is a beast and probably one of the best in the game right now, but he is just one person and the Packers secondary while young is playing amazing, so im gunna have to give them the edge there, and as far as Linebackers i will give it to the Steelers but if the Packers were healthy who knows, and this one is a tie also there is no way i could pick either defense and feel comfortable. (Packers 2 Steelers 1 1/2) Special Team: After last weeks show by the Packers punter i have a little more Faith in them against the Steelers the only part of their special teams that might be suspect is the kickoff return team, but i think they will address that before the biggest game of the season, obviously they will, and i love Mason Crosby so here i give the edge to the Pack. (Packers 3 Steelers 1 1/2) Experience: Obviously this team has never been to the superbowl before and the Steelers have already gone 3 times with Big Ben and 2 times with their head coach, while the Pack have been playing great this postseason this one goes the Steelers. (Packers 3 Steelers 2 1/2) and thats my final on that i have the Packers with the SLIGHTEST of edge over the Steelers, some may say EXP. should count for a little more, but i think A-Rog has ice in his viens, and i know he will keep a cool head, and they have Vets, like Woodson and Driver, so im not super worried there. Now a few more things on the game. Surprise Performance: I am going to give the surprise performance award to the Packers O-Line they played great last week against the Bears giving Starks some huge lanes to run through i look for more of the same mixed in with a little bit better protection of Aaron Rodgers in this one, and i look for the Packers to run a little better then anyone expects them to, obviously they arent gunna try and run a lot they have already said that, but i think they will run at the perfect times like always and maybe more times then one will catch this great run stopping Steelers D on their heels and Starks will bust a big one. Also the way the Packers lost to these guys last time they played i know had to have left a bad taste in their mouths i know they wanna get these guys back more then ever. In case you dont watch every Packers that you can like i do, heres what happened, the Packers were playing great all game i am not sure if they had a 2 TD lead or not but i know the Steelers made a ridiculous comeback and ended the game with a pass to Wallace in the endzone as time ran out, it was heart breaking i thought for sure we had em, but hey that was last year and we are a totally different team and i know the Steelers have changed but have they really changed that much, i think the Packers just might hav the Steelers number, and it will be just enough to pull out a SUPER close win in Dallas...MUCH more to come on the superbowl this was my first of many break downs, i will also review each teams season and how they have improved and what areas they have been struggling in thus far.

Back-to-Back 0's

In hopes of continuing to stay hot in the picks department i now give you my NBA picks for today, or tonight whatever. The Magic travel tonight to take on the Pacers since they are coming off a tough loss i think Stan will have them ready to play, the Pacers are not a bad team i just think the Magic have been sorta off lately and i look for them to get back on track tonight with a much needed win on the road, after they won 9 straight they are only 4-4 and they are about to get into a tough part of their scheduel coming up next month so we will get a better picture of how good this new Magic team is. The next game is Memphis v. New Jersey, i know the Nets are done going after Melo and that their owner thinks that was why they were losing, that may have been one reason but there are many others, i think people dont realize how good this Memphis team is, they have great guards and if Marc Gasol can play every game like he did his last the Grizzlies will be even that much better, so i will take the Grizzlies over the Nets in Jersey. The Sixers play the Raptors in Toronto, the Sixers are also better then people think, well maybe not now that ESPN has been saying how much they like them to have a good second half, but i just wanna say that i was talking about them being better then people thought a week before i saw it on Sportscenter so dont try and trip on me, so obviously i am taking the Sixers tonight on the road, thats 3 road teams i have taken so far call me crazy but we wont know till tonight. This next one is a tough one thats for sure, the Nuggets v. the Pistons and i know the Nuggets have been playing good basketball lately but so have the Pistons and i really like the Pistons as of late, the only problem i think in this one is they wont put up enough points to beat the Nuggets, i know the Pistons are at home here but i think i still might have to go with the road team, yea lets make it 4 in a row, ill take the Nuggets but let the record show im not 100% on this one but im sticking with the Nuggets cause they have been hot as of late. The Hawks v. the Bucks and wow this is getting a bit ridiculous with the road teams tonight, i am sorry Bucks fans but i am taking the Hawks with all the weapons they have and how well they are playing, the one down side MIGHT be if Joe Johnson doesnt play, it has him listed as day-to-day on my fantasy roster but i read what it said and im 98% sure he will play tonight i was just letting people know there is a chance he wont, but either way im taking the Hawks. I really think i might pick every single road team tonight, except MAYBE 1 or 2 but really i dont know...anyways The Thunder v. the T-Wolves, the Thunder are coming off a hard loss in the last seconds of the game (right after they won in the last second of the game) so i will take the Thunder in a BIG road win i really think the Thunder are gunna give people problems come post season. Now here is a game i really cant decide on the Clippers v. the Rockets in Houston and the Clippers have shown that they are not very good on the road, and they are with out Gordon, but i dont know if that will matter if Blake can get how, and the Rockets dont have the length that you need to semi stop Griffin, i wanna go with the Rockets here but i look for Blake to have a huge game, and that just might be enough to carry his team to a W, but the Rockets are another team people dont realize how good they are cause of their record so i will take the home team for the first time tonight, but i am on the fence about this one also. Here is another one i am iffy about the Bobcats v. the Suns in Phoenix, as much as i wanna pick the road team being as they are the team that uses this blog for motivation as they should cause i am picking against them again tonight, i think Nash is play good and so is Frye so i look for the Suns to win for my 2nd and final home team pick of the night. The Spurs v. the Jazz in Utah and i know the Jazz are a much better team at home but after last nights blow to the Lakers i dont think they have what it takes to beat the Spurs even if they are at home and coming off a beat down i still think the Spurs are to good for them i think Parker will have a big game tonight as well as Blair who has been great for them this year, in his increased roll. The Hornets v. the Warriors once again i am going to have to go with the road team, obviously people knew the Hornets would be good this year it took awhile for them to find themselves but i think they got things figured out and are looking to put together a winning streak of their own.

I havent finished preparing for the superbowl post, yes preparing i want it to be as perfect as possible, i will have up by tonight at the latest and there will be baseball news and other sports news as well maybe some Tennis or Hockey probably hockey since i finally have watched enough for me to feel comfortable writing about it.

#1 Stunna

Ok i was impressed when i saw Pitt manhadle Georgetown, but tonights Ohio State v. Purdue was slightly more impressive to me, tonight was the first time i have seen them play and granted they played near perfect and i know that they wont perform at that high of a level every night, but obviously they play well enough to be unebaten and show they deserve that #1 spot, i honestly thought that if a team had a chance to beat them it would have been Illinois only cause they can kill you from beyond the arc as well but they are suspect inside i know Tisdale is good but obviously Sullinger is better, they thought that Purdue would give OSU more of a challange because of JaJuan Johnson, who was about the only positive tonight for the Boilermakers, he had 22 points 2 blocks 1 steal 1 dime and 7 boards, but he was one of two players in double figures for the Boilermakers, the other was E'Twuan Moore who had 16 points 3 dimes and 3 boards. What really killed Purdue from the start was not just OSU's defense but the fact that i dont think they missed a 3 in the whole first half, acutally if im not mistaken they went 6-9 from beyond the arc in the first half, since i didnt see most of the first half i think that Purdue was more focused on stopping Sullinger down low which gave people open looks from beyond the arc and with their shooters they will hurt you, then in the second half Sullinger got a little more involved in the offense ending the game with 17 points 2 dimes 2 steals and 7 boards, even hitting a 3 pointer in the second half, Ohio State just dominated this game in all areas, another big reason for the win not just that they shot 55% from the field and 57% beyond the arc but the fact that the Buckeyes out rebounded the Boilermakers by 13, given them at least 13 more chances to score then the Boilermakers. The game before this one the one between Florida and George was the game of the night. The more i watch this Florida team the more i like their guard Erving Walker he finds a way to score it seems everytime, he is only 5'8 but yet everytime he drives into the heart of the defense he somehow puts just enough on it to where it goes over the guy guarding him and in the hoop or off the tip top of the backboard and in he can also shoot the 3 from pretty much anywhere on the floor i think he showed that tonight with 2 super deep 3's one of which came in OT with 1 second left to send the game into double OT where the Gators eventually took care of bussiness. Florida has the potential to be a good team, they have a great point guard in Walker and a knock down shooter in Parsons a decent big man win Macklin, they dont have much depth in the big man area, although they do have Tyus who can shoot a pretty decent mid range shot, im not saying they will make it to the final four or anything like that but they are a good team, i think they didnt rebound well in at the start which is a big reason Georgia was able to stay in it, Georgia played great other then the turnovers which really ended up killing them in the end. The bulldogs didnt play bad obviously with the game going into double OT, but if the Gators hit their free throws (i know it was Walker that missed a few down the stretch there but he made up for it if you ask me.)

Finally a good day for me as far as my NBA picks go, i have been struggling as of late with my picks but today was a great day for me going 5-0, it looked like the Mav's might let me down early but Dirk heated up in the second period but it was the rest of the team finally providing the offense i have been hoping for all season Jason Terry with 28 and Tyson Chandler with 21 both of those season high's for them. The starters didnt do that great for the Mav's but playing less then 20 minutes hardly qualifies you as a starter in my eyes i mean sure your in there to start the game but if your playing 17 minutes and the guy coming off the bench is playing in the 30 minute mark, but thats how the Mav's do it and i like it. I thought the Mav's length would trouble Griffin and while he scored 22 points and grab 11 boards that is a sub par outting for him, especially on a night when they didnt have Eric Gordon who is a huge part of their offense...meaning with him out Blake should score roughly 30 a night, only cause he will get that many more looks then he was before with a hot Gordon in the line up, granted teams now can only focus on defending Griffin but i look for Blake to figure out how to deal with the length issue and i look for him to explode in this second half in these 3 or so weeks with out Gordon on the floor, i think the Clippers had a shot at making the 8 spot for the playoff with Gordon now that he is out i dont see it happening i know they are playing much better then they were at the start of the season but the hole they dug themselves was to big. I knew the Jazz were a different team on the road but the past 5 games have shown that they maybe arent the team we thought they were early on in the season with all those impressive vicories beating the Heat, Thunder, Magic, and the Hawks all on the road, but we have seen them kinda even out as the season moves on, granted they arent getting the great performances from Millsap, Williams, and Jefferson and i think that is really why they are struggling, obviously they will make the playoffs unless the bottom really falls out, but unless those guys can get red hot i dont see them making any noise in the post season.

After hearing all the people the Rangers were looking at to add another bat to the lineup i think they got the best person for the job, with Manny, Damon, or Jones all you pretty much get is a bat and sure a guy to play the field if needed but the Rangers are pretty strong at the outfield position, and still have Young who i am sure could play the out field if need be, they were talking about him playing more 1B this season if they picked up an extra bat such as Man-Ram or the other OF's i mentioned, but instead they pick up 1B/C Mike Napoli which was a perfect pick up cause not only do they not have a fully proven 1B, although i am on the record saying i think Moreland will continue right where he left off in the post season and have a great year, but still he is unproven and hasnt played much 1B for the Rangers just in case he cant handle it we have Napoli, and another position we were soft in was the Catcher position since they lost Molina but have since picked up Yorvit Torrealba who is obviously the starter but now they have some depth at the position with Torrealba, Treanor, and Napoli i think this was a much better pick up then any of the others they were looking at with the exception of MAYBE Thome but still i love this move and think it just makes the Rangers that much better and now i am starting to agree with Nolan Ryans prediction of 90-95 wins for the Rangers this year, but that is all hanging on their pitching staff and if Wilson and Lewis can have season like they did last year, and hope that Webb will bounce back good from injury i think the Rangers will have another good year, but with all the moves this offseason i cant wait for baseball season to start. O snap i almost forgot!!! I was reading in ESPN.com that Pujols wants 30 million a year for 10 years from the Cardinals, can you believe that, a $300 million contract would be the biggest ever second to Pay-Rods $252 million deal. I would not be surprised if that deal got done but i agree with what they said on ESPN.com if they sign him for 10 years he would be 41 at the end of the deal and obviously the way power hitters have been declining in their old age doesnt help his case although Pujols is a different bread then anyone of those power hitters and i think a lot of the declining numbers had more to do with no more roids for those guys and now that they dont have them their bodies are even older then what they should be. That being said i think they sign him for 7-8 years at his asking price of 30 mill a year though ending up with $240 million guarantee money.

I was going to break down the Superbowl and both teams season and break down the 2 teams against each other but i dont feel like i am on top of my game tonight and i wanna make sure that my mind is straight for that and for my NBA picks so i will be on tomorrow when i wake up to give my NBA picks and do a whole superbowl post so catch ya tomorrow! Dont forget to check out SDSU v. BYU which i think will be the college game of the week. Jimmer averaged 29.5 points on SDSU last year but they are clearly a different team this year so we will see what goes down, i am not 100% on this yet but i look for BYU to hand SDSU their first loss.

Back on Track

As far as picks go for the weekend, in football i was a perfect 2-0, and i know i didnt pick any college hoops games but if you recall after i saw Texas man handle Texas A&M, and saw how athletic there bigs were i was really excited to see them matched up against some of the better teams Kansas was the one i really mention i thought that the bigs of Texas would be one of the Hardest test the Morris twins have faced all year, and turns out i was right. I never said i thought that Texas would beat the Jayhawks although i knew they had a great chance, but i just said i cant wait to see Texas play some of the better teams such as Pitt, Kansas, and Florida State teams that were strong inside and who had not really been tested inside all year. Minus maybe Pitt who has played a number of tough games, but tonight proved to be the toughest, as they fell to Notre Dame in the first half Notre Dame slowed the pace of the game to suit them and to limit the amount of times Pitt touched the ball and Pitt seemed  to be ok with that style of play and played well in the first half, Gibbs didnt have a great night nor did Wanamaker which finally caught up to Pitt in the second half one Notre Dame started to get hot shooting the ball, not so much Notre Dame as it was Hansbrough who kept gettin guarded by McGhee some how and both times made him look foolish first pulling up for a J right in his face and the second time driving right past him like he was a bum on the street corner asking for a ride. This was a huge win for the Fighting Irish who hadnt played well on the road all year, and not only that were coming off a couple questionable performances, i was starting to think they might taper off a little but they were doing no such thing defeating there 4th ranked team this year, 3 of which were in the top 10 all of them were in the top 20 and the most recent was of course the biggest win taking down #2 ranked Pitt.

Now on to the NFL and this weekends games, I will start with the NFC championship game, as you all know in my rewrite i broke each team down into 5 different categories and who ever had the advantage in the category was given a point, and it ended up being Packers 3 Bears 2 the Pack getting points for defense, wideouts, and QB's and the Bears getting points for special teams and running backs and as the game wore on it seemed that i hit the nail on the head with who had the edge where, the only spot i was wrong if you ask me was obviously speical teams...not saying that the Packers special teams havent been suspect all year but their punter really was the MVP keeping the ball away from Hester like that. As far as giving the Packers  defense the point over the Bears defense i think the game speaks for itself as to how good of a call that was on my part, and the wide outs were more productive on the Greenbay side obviously not as productive as you would have thought do to A-Rog being human and all, but the Packers wide outs accounted for 244 yards on 17 receptions where the Bears wide outs accounted for 233 on 19 receptions. I gave the slight edge to the Bears in the run game only because how dangerous Forte is when he gets outside and how dangerous he is out of the back field as a receiver which was the reason i gave him the edge and that is where he out preformed Starks, the both had 70 yards on the ground (Starks had 74 on 22 carries) Forte had 70 with 17 carries but he also had 10 receptions good for 90 yards. Last but not least i gave the Packers a huge edge in the quarterback department and rightfully so, no Aaron Rodgers didnt have a amazing game, but without the opening drive who knows how that game turns out, right off the bat he set the tone, i know Cutler didnt play the whole game, which if you ask me was the best thing that happened to the Bears all game. I am in no place to question anyones toughness thats a NFL player but to me the fact that Cutler could put any weight at all on that knee and he wasnt out there is just something i cant comprehend, i could see if he was a wide out or a running back someone who had to strain there knee and someone who is for sure getting hit everytime they touch the ball, but Cutler is a quarterback! I mean really in the biggest game of your career your gunna sit back and watch as your team fails. I normally would be calling someone out like this but if it was that bad why was he on the sidelines still walking around like nothing was bothering him, he wasnt even limping when he was walking around on the sidelines, another thing i didnt really notice till they pointed it out on ESPN was how he wasnt cheering on his team and how he was sitting right next to 3rd stringer Hanie while Hanie was looking at photos of the last drive trying to figure things out and there he was just sitting there staring off into space not even offering and tips or advice, maybe Cutler was mad cause Hanie was showing him up and putting his starting spot in Jeopardy...haha obviously that last part was a joke but come on Jay wouldnt you wanna help your team anyway you can in this game i mean if you win you go the the Superbowl did he forget that or something? But any who i dont know how bad he was hurt or what not but if you ask me it didnt look that bad and even if it was the fact that he looked like he had somewhere else to be all game is what really bother people i think more than the fact that he wasnt playing. Sorry i got a little bit off topic but not really, anyways i know Rodgers didnt look great in the second half but he still out played Cutler and the rest of the Bears QB's if you ask me. Now as far as the second game goes i will offically (for now) change The Dirty Sanchez back to the Sanchize, and admit that i was wrong, Sanchez played a near perfect ga...wait a second no no no not near perfect we will say good and not game but half he played a pretty good half, that half obviously being the second half, where ok he played great, now if he could only figure out how to play this well all season and the Jets may be the team with the first round bye and home field for the playoffs but we will wait till next season to see if he finally gets it. The first half went the way i expected the whole game to go minus how good the Steelers ran the ball but i knew they would try and run cause thats the kinda team they are, but i figured they'd get at least one defensive TD and a at least one on offense and go into half with maybe a 10 point or 7 point lead i didnt think it'd be 24-3 going into half i thought the Jets would show up better then that, but this is a common place for this team, to no show in the first half and come out in the second half a different team, it works in the regular season for the most part, but this is the AFC championship game, you cant even take a play off let alone a whole half! Thats all i got on that for now, tomorrow i will post about each teams full season and i will break the teams down in a lot more detail then i did for the Packers v. Bears so be ready for that tomorrow.

On to the NBA where the Mav's finally picked up Stojakovic, now obviously he is no Carmelo but still he is a catch and shoot guy who is career 40% fro mbeyond the arc and a good add to the team, they do need another scorer with Butler out like i have said before, now its yet to be seen if Stojakovic can be that scorer how much he has left in him but he obviously gives them a better chance to win or else they wouldnt have picked him up, like i said on facebook its a good move just not a great move, i am not saying it CANT be a great move that is yet to be seen, it for sure makes them better so i wont say that i dont like it (sorry i had to go double negative on you) but i will wait to say its a great move until at least 5 or so games down the road. I hope this is the move they need to get back to where they were before the injuries piled up but i am not getting my hopes up just yet. I'll give you my picks for tomorros games real quick, The Nuggets travel to Washington to play the Wizards and while the Wizards are obviously a different team at home i dont think they will have what it takes to beat a Nuggets team that regularly drops 120, im not saying the Wizards cant win but they will need huge outings from Wall and Blatche and the rest of their starters but i got the Nuggets in this one. The Cav's play in Boston and i am taking the Celtics to win big double digits for sure. The Clippers are on the road against the Mav's and while the Clippers have been hot, the Mav's have the length to frustrate Griffin, and with the new offensive addition i think the Mav's have another big home win here against the Clippers. The Bobcats play the Kings and for once i am not picking against the Bobcats i think they will pull off the road win and i hope to see big games out of Diaw and Augustin, the last game for tomorrow will be the Jazz on the road in L.A. to take on the Lakers and the Jazz are not the same team on the road and i look for the Lakers to continue their winning ways they have won 9 of their last 11 and i look for this to be the 10th.

baseball stuff tomorrow as well as a lot of football and NBA picks

Melo out!!

Since Mav's owner Mark Cuban is probably the least Melo guy i know it makes perfect sense for the Mav's to pick up Melo for the rest of the season. There is no question they need someone else who can score almost at will, just think about it. With the Mav's improved defense and Dirk and Melo on the same side they could ride em all the way to the Western Conference Finals maybe even further heck we already have seen they can beat the Lakers once why not in a series, the one thing thats yet to be seen is if they can get past the Spurs i think the Mavs may have played them earlier in the year but i am not sure. I know they played recently with Chandler and Dirk and obviously Butler out so you cant really compare the two from that game. But if the Mavs were to get Melo this would to me solve all there problems cause who are you gunna double team Dirk, or Melo obviously not both, but either way someone will be open and someone will get a lot of good looks, it would be like the Heat no scratch that more like the Celtic's with Kidd being a younger less talented version of Rondo...sorry but its true, look i loved J-Kidd when he was at his prime but lets face he is no where near there anymore, yes he can still play, and yes sometimes he can even put it in that extra gear and drop 21 but he cant do it night in and night out like Melo can and thats what the Mav's need. Cuban finally figured out that they cant just score 140 points every night and win a championship, they need talent on both sides of the ball, and finally they have that. If the Mavs can play with the level of intensity they have been playing with the last 2 nights then i think good things are in store for them even if they dont get Melo, they are looking hard at  Stojakovic who is also past his prime but still is a catch and shoot, guy who can knock down shots when he needs to a career 40% shooter from beyond the arc, how can that be bad i mean if we had him last night who knows maybe 2 time outta 5 he hits that 3 and we go to OT or win you never know, but if any owner can get Melo for the rest of the season it will for sure be my main man Marky Mark. If he doesnt get him however  Stojakovic is the next best thing i guess.

More to come later have to go do some things will have more on the Mavs and NBA and some baseball stuff as well as a Skip Bayless rant that no one will wanna miss!

Fatal Flaw

So tonight we saw that Blake Griffin is actually human and obviously has a lot to learn, we all knew this already but we havent really seen him struggle or at least i havent cause its harder to catch Clippers game on TV then it is College Wrestling and thats saying something, but apparently he stuggles with lengthy guys, obviously with guys that are bigger then him cause his post game isnt rounded out like it would be if this was his second year instead of his rookie year like it should be but its not and he doesnt have all the moves down just yet, not to mention there was at least 2 guys on him all night sometimes 3 and he struggled early on to find the open guy when they collasped on him, obviously he will figure it out the more he plays, and tonight Gordon was on fire and i think thats maybe why Blake didnt get as many looks that and Aldrige kinda had him in fits on the offensive end and he had plenty of rebounds but would have had a lot more, but the Blazers just kept making shots, and since when was Rudy Fernandez an Harlem Globetrotter i mean seriously! haha the one shot to beat the shot clock and the one where Blake fell down and they had it on a break away only to like kick it or get it stipped and then have Rudy grab the loose ball jump over his guy on the ground and put it in the bucket. I am conviced that Aldrige only played so well and Griffin sub par was because for my last pick of the day in ESPN.com's streak for the cash i had to pick either Blakes rebounds+points vs Aldriges rebounds+points+assists and everything was fine until the final like 45 second where Aldrige makes a bucket and a rebound to take the lead over Blake 39-38! this stuff could only happen to me i swear its getting ridiculous, just like how everytime i pick against the bobcats they come away with an win...tonight being no exception obviously. Tonight was another bad night for me in the NBA. I am pretty sure i am  not the only one that noticed Dirk probably came back a few games to early the way he was limping and dragging that leg around tonight, it didnt look as bad last night but you could tell the knee wasnt ready for a back to back night like that especially against 2 quality teams like that, even with Dirks reduced success tonight the Mav's still almost beat the Bulls if you ask me they should have but its freaking Rose he is unstoppable, when he gets in the heart of the defense he is either putting it in the bucket or drawing the foul or both...i mean the shots he hit tonight while driving were out of this world, and he has improved his jump shot so much that you have to respect it just as much as you have to respect him driving to the hoop and his assits are up as well, he is a legit MVP candidate no doubt in my mind. I also wanna say i am sorry for forgetting about Butler as the other scoring option in Dallas (he is also hurt) but i really like the way the Mav's have been playing the past 2 nights i know tonight ended in a loss but they looked so much better the past 2 nights then they did the previous 9 right now i am most upset about dropping Tyson Chandler from my fantasy team i know i know i hate to admitt it but i did, i needed more 3 pointers at the time but now i need more rebounds and blocks and i dont have him and i think i am going to have to settle for DeAndra Jordan i wouldnt mind except he hardly scores which i wouldnt have a problem with at all if he keeps up his block totals i know he had 3 tonight which is good but when i first picked him up he had like 3 or 4 games of 4 or more blocks i need him but i also need 3 SG's or else sometimes when Joe Johnson is out i dont have another SG so i end up one player short when i should have a full roster if that makes sense sorry about that got a tad off topic but not to far. Anyways tomorrow ill have more on the NBA and how amazing this All-Star weeked is gunna be.

Ok well i am not counting this as the offical rewrite of my playoff picks but i am going to talk playoffs for a minute. I find it so funny how the Jets came out trying to sweet talk the Steelers and say how amazing Big Ben was and "how do you prepare for a guy that can flick the ball 60 yards" one of many quotes about Ben coming from the Jets i think this is a more another shot at Tomy Brady then it is a compliment to Big Ben and also do i hear a hint of sarcasim in his voice, but Bens response was so awesome i fell out of my seat laughing...."They just beat the 2 best QB's in the league on the road, i think im in over my hear" haha take that J-E-T-S jets jet jets, OBVIOUSLY he isnt serious and obviously he isnt buying into the talk from the Jets side, i mean are you? Cause lets face it we all know these Jets are cocky and while they might respect Big Ben they still are thinking in their heads were gunna pound this guy i dont care how big he his, and while they are red hot i dont know if they will be as successful this game as they were  the last 2, as i said before defense sure but when you put the game on the Dirty Sanchez (my new nick name for him i dropped the Sanchize cause  it was to respectful haha) with no run game then i think things go south and go south fast for the Jets, how much would i like the Jets to win and see a Jets v. Packers in Dallas i wont lie i would love the chance  to shut Rex Ryan and the Dirty Sanchez up...that being said i love the way Rex coaches it obviously works with the players of today, he is a great defensive coach no one can argue that fact and i wont lie i like a lot of the Jets players i just think that the Steelers have the been here so many times before and everytime they figure out a way to pull another W out of their ass, it never ceases to amaze me, obviously Holmes is on the other team this time but i think the Steelers made the right move here like when the Pack knew it was time to start the Aaron Rodgers era the Steelers knew it was time to start the Mike Wallace era, im not saying Holmes is not a damn good receiver cause he is i just think that Wallace has emerged as a break out wide out in the past 2 years and i think he will be just as good if not better then Holmes and youll obviously get more quality years out him from now forwards then you will Santonio. I know the Jets have 2 of the best corner backs in the league and im sure Revis will do a great job on Wallave but Mike always seems to find a way to get down the field with one step on who ever is guarding him or when he catches it over the middle with even lets say 2 or 3 yards of space he hits the Nos and BAM he is gone quicker then Frank the Plank when its the last friday of the month and he gets his disability check...for those of you without showtime they just came out with this AMAZING show called Shameless if you dont have showtime you MUST find a way to check this show out it is one of the best shows i have seen this season, thats the winter season im not including the season that just ended (boardwalk empire obviously the winner there!) back to football, i just think the Steelers will find a way to have fewer mistakes then the Jets and when your playing playoff football thats what matters. As far as the Packers v. Bears game i know the field conditions will be horrible Olsen the Bears tightend said it best...its Chicago we've been having snow and really cold weather it doesnt take a scientist to firgure out that grass doesnt grow in that weather...or something along those lines. I'll break this one down a little different. Quarterback: After the weekend Aaron Rodgers had last weekend after the post season he has had forget that given the season he has had how would you not take Rodgers over Cutler, lets say its a pick up game and you get first pick and you gotta take a QB and you got the A-Rog or Cutler who are taking....Rodgers everytime and if you say otherwise your just lying to yourself. (SKIP BAYLESS) Just think if the game is on the line and you need your qb to win it for you if Aaron is under center your almost 100% he will make the perfect thow, with Cutler your worried he will throw into triple coverage...so i give the QB point to the Packers. Wideouts: Do i even need to type anything here i mean can you even name a Bears wide out other then Hester and the only reason you can name him is cause he is the best punt returner ever. Packer 2 Bears 0. Running back: This one is tough but the way James Starks has been running this post season he looks as good as any back there is he has the most rush yards of any of the remaining backs, but Forte is beast as well and if he can get to the outside forget about it. It kills me to say this but i gotta be fair SLIGHT edge Bears only cause Forte has been proven time and time again. Pack 2 Bears 1. Defense: I know the Bears defense is great but i think the Packers defense has been under rated all year they allowed the fewest points in the NFC and i think they are 2 in the NFL behind the Steelers but they might even be first i dont know, the 2 styles are different i just think the Bears are known for their defense so everyone thinks that makes theres better automatically, i am gunna go out on a limb here and say the Packers defense will out play the Bears and imma give the Pack the point here but they its only a slight edge. Packers 3 bears 1. Special teams: This one is as close as the wide outs just the other side gets the point i mean the Packers special teams have been horrible they lost at lease 2 huge games for us this year (the Falcons game and the Pats game) so obviously the point goes to the bears here...final score Packers 3 Bears 2. Which brings me to my pick Packers over the Bears in a close one, decided by 7 or fewer. Ok after finishing this i AM making it my offical rewrite this one blows my original out of the water wouldnt you agree? Sorry i made such a poor run at it the first time.

A quick baseball note here the Yankees add yet another free agent to their line up bringing Andruw Jones over to the dark side! No i am not a diehard Sox fan but i do love the Red Sox and i was the only one who called there 4 game come back against the Evil Empire in 2004 and if you dont believe me you can Check tape haha sorry that kills me "I did rock in high school wanna check tape?!" Couple Retreat classic. I guess he is a good fit here obviously he will be more a DH then a center fielder as they already have a decent center fielder obviously if were talking Andruw in his prime then he obviously would be your starting center fielder but he isnt in his prime and so that would lead me to believe he will be a DH and maybe play the out field if they wanna give there guys out there some rest, at least you know when he is a solid defender as well as a good add to the lineup. Thats all i got for tonight ill be back in the morning with NBA All-Star stuff and whatever else i got to write about tomorrow hopefully some more baseball news...as you can tell i cant wait for spring training. Just so you know i will be going to as many Lobo and Isatope games as possible so i will keep you as up to date as possible once both of their season start.

Pick a winner

When i made my NBA picks for yesterday i dont think i was focused enough my mind wasnt all there, or at least i dont think it was and it showed in my writing and my picks, today that is not the case i am 110% focus and ready to pick all winners for fridays NBA match ups. We start off with the Pistons traveling to play the Nets, now that all the Nets arent worried about being traded they can finally focus on playing basketball, i wasnt so sure it was to much of a distraction until last night when they had no "Melo-drama" stuff going on (like how i did that there lol melo dramatic im sooo clever jk) and they came away with an impressive W against the Jazz, granted the Jazz play horrible on the road but still i think they shoulda been able to beat the Nets reguardless, anyways i know the Nets are more focused now but still i think the Pistons are much better then people think, i mean they almost beat the Celtics last night and they have quality wins so i am taking  the Pistons over the Nets. The Magic have been sorta struggling as of late well friday they play the Raptors at home which SHOULD be an easy win, and a good way for them to kinda get some confidence back i know they won last night in OT but they got bailed out at the end of the game being fouled on the 3 pointer giving them the 4 point play, im not sayin the Magic shouldnt have won i am just saying the way they have been playing isnt the way they were playing right after the trade but i still look for them to get it together and start winning again tomorrow being there 2nd straight. Then Steve Nash and the Suns travel to Washington the old vs. the new there will be so many dimes dropped in this game you'll look like a homelss person trying to count em all up, this one is tough for me but the Wizards play pretty good at home and i think Blatche is playing great and i think Wall will give them a good showing too, giving them just enough to top the Suns. Then the Hornets travel to the ATL to play the Hawks, who are my dark horse to be there late in the Eastern conference playoffs, and i mean late, so obviously im taking Joe Johnson and the Hawks especially at home. The Jazz have to travel again this time to Boston a much better team then New Jersey and im sorry to say it but the Jazz are gunna lose 3 straight i dont see the Celtics losing for a few more games espeically with KG back and the way Shaq is playing this year is amazing (come on Manny haters in Texas if SHAQ can play this well i know Manny still has at least a year left in him!) can you imagine once  the other O'Neal is healthy the C's will be unstoppable until the Lakers show em what up in the Finals AGAIN! (once again fingers crossed!)  The Bucks travel to play the Cav's and this is a winable game for the Cav's espeically if Jamison plays the way he has been playing all they would need would be for someone else to step up also but i am not sure they are gunna get it ill take the Bucks in a close one...something is telling me to take the Cav's but im ignoring it. The Knicks play the Spurs in San Antonio and you all know my new policy on the Knicks so i am taking the Spurs at home as bernie mac would say in Oceans 13, that folks is NOUGH SAID! Houston travels to Memphis to play the Grizzlies who are coming off a tough loss to the Bulls and the Hornets i am taking the Grizzlies this is there third chance to win one for the home crowd and i think they are gunna finally pull the trigger. The Lakers are traveling to Denver to play Melo and  the Nuggets and i know they didnt play that great in the second half of last nights game in Dallas but i look for them to bounce back and play the whole game intense and if thats the case look at Denver, i got the Lakers getting back to their winning ways and taking home the W.  The kings play the Warriors at Golden State and the way the Warriors have been playing lately its hard to pick against them so i wont, I'll take Golden state over the locally owned Kings.

In baseball news i was reading the Rangers blog earlier and they had a post where Nolan Ryan was talking about signing a veteran bat or starting pitcher but he was clear the who ever they signed for the veteran bat wouldnt be the sould DH and probably wouldnt get many at bats he would more then likely be a situtational DH, so that is why Vlad most likely wouldnt come back nor would Manny come in the first place, they both would be looking for somewhere where they would get more at bats then they would here they like Young and Moreland so i think they are sticking with those guys as far as the DH as far as i know right now...its Young as the DH or i would think unless he plays first and Moreland DH's or is sent down to triple-A but he had such a great post season and i read what he said about this year and he has been working hard and will do whatever is best for the club, which if you ask me would be him at first and young as DH if he picks up his defense in spring training i think that might be the case. I will rewrite my playoff picks post later today and i will have more MLB news....O yea i am sure you have all heard but the Twins signed Pavano for 2 years and 16.5 million.

What a turn around

I'm just gunna throw this out there, and i am sure i am not the only one who is thinking this. As i watched Vince Young be interviewed today on sportcenter i couldnt help but think who could really use him, and where he would fit best, i first thought in San Fransico, or maybe the Panthers or Browns could pick him up but all of them have young QB's that they are hoping will figure it out (well maybe not the Panters) but then it hit me....come on think about it....he is a one of the best deep ball throwers in the NFL today....almost there.....thats right the Raiders! To me he couldnt ask for a better place to land, i mean look at all the speed they have in the receiver postion, they have a solid run game, they could use a better defense but really think about all the plus sides of him in Oakland. He can compliment McFadden just like he did Chris Johnson, and if teams stack the box against them then he just flicks one 80 yards down field to ford or Hayword-bay, its a win win if you ask me, he will be everything they wanted from Russel and much much more! It really wouldnt surprise me  to see the Raiders sign him this off season.

Now on to college hoops, there were 2 marquee ups tonight on Wednesday night hoops, one of which featuring the same team as last week, the Duke blue devils, and since Duke was going up against N.C. State a team that beat them last year when they played and also a team who has good play from inside the paint, this one could be another loss for Duke unless some how the Plumlee brother finally man up and realize there potential, which fortunatly for Duke is exactly what happened. As soon as the game started you could tell that Mason Plumlee was not the same person he was last week against Florida State in fact you could argue something crazy happened and someone else was put into his body i mean thats how significant the change was. He just seemed to be much tougher tonight he was fighting for rebounds on both ends of the floor contesting every shot that N.C. State put up, which led to his 5 blocks in the first half one of which he blcok so hard it went right to an N.C. State player who put it up for 3 and nailed but still the way him and his brother played in the first half was remarkable something i had been waiting for everytime i watch Duke play, only because they are both so big and yet so tentative but that for sure wasnt the case tonight and thats a huge reason that Duke held the lead in the first half, i think that once FSU showed everyone how weak they were in the paint coach K knew he had to do something to change that and whatever he said to them or whatever they figured out in the past week i hope they keep it up and if they do Duke will be really hard to beat down the stretch, i am not sure if they will be able to hang with Pitt or Texas or the Morris twins but we wont know the answer to that until March. Another big differnce in this game compared to last weeks is that the Duke guards seem to be driving to the basket a lot more, maybe those lanes werent as big last week cause of FSU's outstanding defense but you still gotta try maybe you miss the bucket but draw a foul you never know, im glad to see them driving to the paint this week. Duke played great in the first half but a huge reason the lead was so big was because i dont think N.C. State got one bounce to go their way, the rim was cruel to them on their home court in the first half. That changed in the second half N.C. State came out on fire and Duke came out a little flat footed letting N.C. State pull within 5 but everytime they did get the lead down to single digits it seemed Duke came storming back, that happened a few times back and forth until Singler finally found his shot late in the second half and help Duke take control and finish this game, I really hope that these are the Plumlee brothers we see for the rest of the year, i cant stress how important they are to Duke's success late into March. The other marquee match up tonight was Texas A&M at Texas which i thought would be a great game so i turned it on instead of the Mav's v. Lakers game to start then i saw how one sided it was at put it back to the Mav's Lakers. I mean Texas totally dominated in the paint their guards out played A&M's guards A&M looked bad tonight they had as many fouls as points early in the first half (10 for 10) and it continued for the whole game i was really looking forward to a hard fought rivalry game but nope Texas just let A&M have it, as unimpressed as i was with A&M i was as imressed maybe even more impressed with Texas freshmen Tristin Thomas how he was able to move through A&M defenders in the paint was like the way little bow wow did in Like Mike. His foot work was great and that drive spin finger roll while almost falling down move was out of this world for a big man to do it like he did was amazing. Quick correction on my previous post i said that after Pitt beat Syracuse they went to 4 and Syracuse dropped to 5 well guess what Syracuse went to 3 and Pitt went to 4...how the hell does this happend your right below a team you hand them there only loss you both have the same record and YOU beat THEM yet they are ranked above you...? Baffling isnt it?

Now on to the NBA where i had another horrible night...well there are still 3 games going on so i will start with the other ones so by the time i am done i will know my offical record for tonight but i can tell you it isnt good right now it stands at 4-6 with 3 games left so the best i can finish tonight is 1 game above .500, since the Mav's beat the Lakers i am ok with one of those incorrect picks and i must say i am an idiot i totally forgot that Tyson Chandler has also been out while Dirk was out so i am not as worried about the Mav's nor as angry (even though they did play with no effort the previous 9 games so i am still steaming about that) also a win helped a lot, and what did i say was key to them turning it around not just Dirk but who else was it i called out....wasnt it J-Kidd...and who stepped up huge tonight for the Mav's in there upset win over the Lakers....thats right Kidd did with 21 points 10 dimes and 2 boards he really turned it around from his 0 point showing and i hope he keeps it up for the rest of the season and the Mav's finish out the season the way they started it...by dominating. If the Lakers can keep Bynum healthy i still think they are the team to beat not just in the West but in the NBA i know they are kinda going through the motions right now and i kinda get that after going back-to-back they have lost a little drive and being the 2 time defending champs your gunna get every teams A game everyone is gunning for you and trying to beat you...and that means everyone, am i worried about them figuring it out, no to be honest when they get going they really cant be stopped especially when Bynum and Gasol are hot and Kobe obviously too but i think he should only turn it on when really needed by his team they have so many offensive weapons that he can maybe draw a double team or something and just feed the big guys in the paint and if anyone knows how to do both those things its Kobe. I hope he finally figures out a way to get these guys realizing they need to pick it up a little in the regular season so they are in rythme for the playoffs and so they dont have to all the sudden figure things out, they need to have them figured out before the post seaon, just cause they are 2 time defending champs doesnt mean they have it all figured out its a new season, the teams are different to say the least and they just need to get rolling after the All Star break which i think they will. This just in the Blazer beat the Kings in OT puttin me at 5-6 on the day so far but its looking like i am gunna finish .500 for the day unless the Pacers can tie it up and win in OT, which i am hoping for. From now on i am picking against the Knicks every freaking game for the rest of the season, and not cause i think they are gunna lose just cause every time i pick them EVERYTIME they fail me, tonight again they lose to and less talented team in the Rockets, i  cant say they are way less talented because the Rockets have few decent players where as the Knicks have one great player and a few ok players, who have seen their talent spike because of Amare and the shots he is creating for them. PLEASE get Melo already New York i know you wanna wait till the offseason sign him as a free agent and save potentially 15-25 million dollars, but you need him isnt it obvious after tonights loss? Haha only kidding sign him after the season just as long as you know its a lock at that time, maybe he likes where he lands before the trade deadline maybe he ends up loving his new team that is going to be renting him for the remainder of the season you never know so just keep that in mind. Honesly if the Bulls didnt get Boozer i would have loved to see Melo go there, IF he would be willing to go West that would be legit as well. its offical i finshed the day .500 and i am sorry for my picks they were not that great although there were a few upsets tonight...Lakers, Knicks (kinda), Jazz, and the Thunder also a kinda, and i went out on a limb picking the Grizzlies over the Hornets and SHOULDA looked like a genius but they failed to call the foul at the end of the game that woulda iced it for the Grizz instead it sent it into OT where the Hornets ended up winning by 1. I'll throw my 3 picks for tomorrows NBA games at you real quick here Sixers over the Bobcats Mav's over the Bulls (fingers crossed) and Clippers over the Blazers i know the Clippers are horrible on the road but i think everyone on the Blazers is out with a knee injury so their D-league squad is playing for them tomorrow...lol JOKE! but really though.

I wasnt that happy with my playoff post earlier today it didnt seem like my best work at all and so i will probably rewrite it tomorrow a lot better sorry for half assing it! Also tomorrow i will have more baseball news, and my NBA picks for friday.

Wishful Thinking

The AFC and NFC championship games are almost here, and i couldnt ask for a better match up in each division, could you unless your a Saints, Falcons, Seahawks, Pats, or Ravens fan but even if you are a fan of one of those teams the match ups we have this weekend are still great match ups there is no denying that. I will start with the AFC only cause i save the best for last (i try and stay impartial but im just no good at it ha) only kidding everyone, but anyways lets get to it. Now i know the Jets have taken the road less traveled this week by keeping there mouths shut so to speak, and when they do talk its nothing be compliments for the other team, and i think they said it best on Mike and Mike in the morning..."I think they thought making the Pats angry would work to there advantage, but they think making the Steelers angry definitely will not." I couldnt agree more if thats what they are thinking and i am sure it is. See the Jets are a physical defensive team and last week they were going up against a team thats more finesse then hit you in the mouth, and i think maybe they wanted the Pats mad to maybe try and play a way they usually dont play and maybe had them use a little to much of their emotion, where as the Steelers are one the most if not the most physical team in the league and i think if they tried that with them it would only make things worse for the Sanchize and the Jets as a whole, so i retract my statement from last week when i said that it wasnt smart to talk like that about Brady, cause i guess they had a plan all along, and it play of perfectly for them in the end. But like so many people point out this isnt the Pats of old and if it was i dont know that the Jets would have taken that route becuase the Pats when they were so dominate had one of the best defenses in league and they were better on defense then on offense. That being said ill get back to this weeks game, these teams are really the same on the defensive side of the ball they both are outstanding the Steelers a little more so then the Jets but not by much and like everyone keeps saying the stats from the regular season mean nothing now that we are in the playoffs but the one big advantage the Steelers have is at  the quarterback position, i know the Sanchize has some crazy post season switch that he turns on once the Jets get into the tournament but i am not sure if he can come away with another performance like he had last weekend and if you ask me he will need to top last weeks showing in order to beat this Steelers defense, because unlike the Pats defense this Steelers D is battle tested in the post season and they have been here and know what to do, not to mention they are playing at home, I know the Jets have an outstanding defense but so did the Ravens and look what the Steelers did to them. I think the Steelers wont start out like they did last week, i think last week they were a little off cause of their bye week in round one and thats why they started out like that, i look for them to set the tone early in this one and i think Sanchize will have a lot less time to throw, they are gunna make him beat them i know for sure the Jets wont be able to run the ball like they did last week, I am not saying the Steelers will get much of a run game going either but Big Ben can handle the pressure of having the game on his sholders in fact i think he might want it that way. Maybe the dirty Sanchez does too but i dont think so. I think the Steelers are gunna be in his face early and often and its gunna force him to do things he shouldnt and trust me the Jets will turn the ball over against this Steeler defense they wont come away with 0 turnovers like they did last weekend which was a huge reason why they were able to win that game. So if you ask me i think this will be a close one but the Steelers are gunna win at home and advance to the Superbowl. I know the Jets beat them last time they played but it was without Troy and Heath and those are 2 key guys on this Steeler football team. Plus i think the Steelers want to get the Jets back for beating them. Next up we have the NFC championship game with the Packer vs. the Bears in chicago, this should be a really good game these teams have already played each other 2 times this year each team winning at home, although early on in the season when the Packers lost to the Bears they were just getting used to not having a run game and i dont think either team was as good then as they are now both teams have improved a lot since that first meeting, and the second one well that was much more recent and i think that it will be much like the game in the final week of the season. I know the Bears defense is much better then the Falcons and they are playing on a field that is much worse off then the one they played on last weekend, I know the Bears have a great defense but so do the Packers especially when they play to their full capability. I know the Bears defense knows a lot not just about Aaron Rodgers but a lot about this Packer  offense seeing as how they face them 2 times every year, but the Packers have the same advantage as the Bears, i know i keep hearing that in week 17 the Packers had to win so they showed the Bears "everything they had" which i dont buy for a second i am sure every NFL coach has some wrinkles that no one else has seen and if they dont i am sure they can come up with some in a weeks time, espeically when you have an offense as talented as the one the Packers have, i am not worried about that i am more worried about the Pack containing Peppers coming off the edge, i think we can handle him and if not i am hoping Aaron can be as elusive as he was last weekend, last weekend we did a good job against the Falcons D-line who has a pro bowler of its own so we will see how our O-line fairs against the Bears relentless attack, BUT all that being said i think Rodgers plays mistake free and Cutler doesnt and we surprise them with a great game on the ground by Mr. James Starks and win a close one on Solider Field and go to the Superbowl, Packers over the Bears......Steelers over the Jets culminating in a Packers vs. Steelers Superbowl in Dallas baby!! GO PACK GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (knock on FREAKING wood!!!) I just think in the playoffs you obviously need a good defense but what you really need is a great quarter back and the Packers and Steelers have both so in the end i think thats the big difference here.

One last thing i was looking at the ESPN.com home page sorta down towards the bottom and something caught my eye, a pitcher that Barry University just picked up this year, why did a JUCO pitcher catch my eye your wondering.....maybe cause he has a career ERA of under 1 or stikes outs 2 of every 3 batters he faces or something crazy like that....nope....its cause the dude is 7 foot 2 inches....once i heard that i was thinking to myself damn this guy must throw like 112 miles an hour i mean he has the leverage to do so for sure....NA mid 80's they say when pitched in High school he was outstanding, then he took a year off for family but still pitched in a Florida summer league or something like that but then the dude had open heart surgery and now he is back on the mound at Barry U and if their pitching coach can coach this kid up to the level a 7 ft 2 in pitcher COULD be at then everyone else in D II college baseball better watch out cause this kid could bring nastier stuff the his idle....wait for it......thats right you guessed it Randy Johnson. Although this kid seems a little nicer then Johnson on the field we will see how he bounces back from his time off, i am gunna follow him the best i can this season and i'll keep all the baseball fans that read updated on his status. One more quick note on the baseball level i was reading the Rangers blog yesterday and they were talking about Wilsons new contract as a starter and since he had so much success there that they were gunna try it with Neftali Feliz just to see where it might lead i am not sure if they will actually try it this spring training or maybe next, i think this is a good idea but then who will we have to slam the door in the late 8th and 9th inning, i guess if he is as effective as a starter as he was as a closer i wont complaing cause 240 quality innings are of course better then 70 but once he is done or any of our starters are done and the mid relievers are outta gas then we gotta rely on who? I am sure they will find a quality closer before making the switch with Feliz or at least i hope they do cause i think this would be a great move IF he can handle the job. That would give us Wilson, Feliz, Hurley, Webb (who we hope will return to quality status) and i am not sure the 5th but thats IF Feliz makes the switch which is yet to be seen but pitchers and catchers report in Feb. so we will see once spring training is in full swing which direction the Rangers take. Ill be back later with the NBA recap and some College hoops anything you wanna hear about just lemme know on Facebook or in the comment section on here, thanks.

Michael Jordan must read my blog!!

Haha i wish, the only reason i say that is because he is so competitive and everytime i pick the Bobcats to loss they always win so my theory is MJ reads my blogs and uses it to pump D.J. Augustin and Boris Diaw & company up before there big games like tonights big one against MJ's former team, in which you all know i picked the Bulls to win and of course they didnt, BUT on the other hand i picked the Hawks to beat the Heat and they did even with LeBron James aka Mike Lowry. Since the only NBA games on tv tonight were on NBA TV and NBA league pass i settled for the MSU vs. Illinois game in which i picked Illinois to upset Michigan State, i was big on both these teams earlier in the year i just think this game came down to who shot the ball better at the start of the first half MSU was hitting their jumpers and 3 pointers but as the Illinois defense wore em down and kept forcing them to take bad shots they lost there touch on their jumpers, it was back and forth in the first half until Illinois got a 5 point lead a big first half differnce maker was Brandon Paul he had 17 points and a huge block in the first half, and it really looked like Illinois could run away with it and go into half time with a big lead but they had back-to-back turnovers that lead to Spartan points and ended the half only up 4, 37-41. Illinois held on in the second half and shot lights out to win by 9. As i say everytime i watch Illinois they shoot lights out from beyond the arc and can shoot inside as well they dont have a really tough big man if you ask me Tisdale is a big guy and he is pretty big for his height but i still think if you put em against a Florida State or a Pitt they would get dominated inside and not be able to keep up kinda like Duke when they played FSU.

Earlier today i was watching Outside the Lines and it was about when Jim Joyce blew Galarragas perfect game (im not sure i spelt his name right but i think i got it) and it got me thinking how quickly sports fans forgave him when did the right thing by saying he was wrong and saying sorry and showing how much he really cared and how it really effected him, if atheltes who mess up would only take this same road i think they would find that we would be quick to forget there blemishes, take steroids or DUI or things along those lines, was it wrong yes are we hurt that you did it, yes, but can we forgive you once we know you are sorry and know you did wrong, yes as long as it doesnt happen again and we can see that you actually mean what you say. Stop all this im innocent i never did that what are you talking about stuff cause we know its a lie. We take it as an insult or at least i do, lets take steroids for example...If you test positive for something then chances are your taking it and you know about taking too...none of this o well my trainer gave me this cream with no label and i thought o why not...OR my doctor perscribed it so i know its ok BS that everyone seems to give. Look what happened when a few guys maned up and just said yea i did it, it was a huge mistake but it happened im sorry I wont do it again please forgive me, and all is well with those guys! I just dont get it, i mean your gunna end up in court over it and even then you STILL try and pull off the lie, seriously guys?

Anyways lets get to my NBA picks for tomorrows games, i went 1-1 today. Tomorros first game is The Suns at the Cavs and the suns have had some nice games recently beating the Knicks most recently so i am going to go ahead and take them over the Cav's here. The Jazz are at New Jersey i ma gunna take the Jazz coming off a bad loss to Washington i think they will wanna make a statement in this one i look for them to have a big win against the Nets. The Sixers are playing in Orlando and the Magic are coming off a tough loss in Boston and i think they will wanna get back to their winning ways and i think they will tomorrow against the Sixers. Boston has another home game against the Pistons who have been playing well but now that KG is back in that line up it makes it really tough for me to pick against the Celtics espeically at home so i am taking them in a big win over the Pistons. The Grizzlies are playing the Hornets in New Orleans i know the Grizzlies are coming off a bad showing against the Bulls and i know they have a real quality back court with all there guards, and they are really looking for a win over a quality team i am taking the Grizzlies to pull the upset in New Orleans and beat the Hornets. Washington plays the Bucks on the Bucks home floor i am hoping for my man Blatche to have another huge game like he did against the Jazz and boost the Wizards to their 2nd straight win. The Knicks play the Rockets in Houston and surprise surprise i am going with Spike Lee and his Knickerbockers to come away with a win and a much needed one at that. The Raptors go on the road to face the Spurs and my man Tony is coming off a huge game where he dropped 30 and i dont see him or the Spurs cooling down anytime soon especially against Toronto at home I'll take the Spurs. The Lakers are playing the Mavericks in Dallas and it would be huge if the Mavericks could come away with a win here but the Lakers are rolling right now coming off a huge win agains the Thunder and the Mav's seem to be falling off the face or the earth, i am really hoping Mark Cuban is as mad about this as i am, and i hope he gets a scoring point guard in there soon or someone else that can score they arent gunna win with kidd putting up 0 points, Dirk cant do it by himself. The Thunder play in Denver against Melo and the Nuggets i think the Thunder are looking to get back to winning and they will do so against the nuggets i think that Westbrook will have a huge game agains the Nuggets and Durant too but that usually goes without saying. Portland in Sacramento for the first 8 o'clock (mountain time) game tomorrow night, i know Roy is out for the Blazers but i still think they can come away with the W tomorrow night against the Kings. The Pacers are going to travel to play Golden State in what could be a great game i think the Pacers have been playing good as of late and i hope Dorell Wright has a great game but i am picking the Pacers to win on the road. Last but not least is the T-Wolves vs. the Clippers and the Clippers have been playing great at home so i am taking them over the T-Wolves in the last game tomorrow. I would go over my NFL stuff now but i am gunna save it for tomorrow morning when i wake up.
