Well i guess tonight just wasnt my night at all, i really was pulling for the ducks i really like what they do there and how they run their offense and how they try and push the pace all game, tonight they just couldnt keep the ball for long enough to really have the Tigers on their toes, Aubrun dominated the line of scrimage which i expected but i didnt expect Oregon to look like weak offensively, obviously LeMichael wasnt getting it up the gut, why not stick to the little shuttle pass or try and get him outside or work the play action a little more. Another thing that really surprised me was how many times Oregon's offensive line didnt even touch Fairley, when your gunna let someone that dominate through with out even being touched of course its gunna be hard for you to get the run game going. I was really impressed by the Ducks defense i know they let the true freshmen run all over them but they did their job on Cam Newton and really did a great job everywhere else except when it came to stopping Dyer who torched the Ducks for 143 yards, the biggest of the runs coming with less than a minute to play when Auburn was just looking to get the ball in the middle of the feild to make it easier for their kicker Oregon let Dyer get down to the six inch line and that pretty much made the kick unmissable. I really wish that the Ducks could have found a way to beat the Tigers but they just were to dominate on both sides of the ball, they said during the game that Fairley was just as good as Suh i think that was that biggest over statement of the night he was dominate but not nearly as dominate to me last year Suh would knock 2 offensive lineman down just to get the sack really i didnt see Fairley dominate like that i am not saying Fairley isnt a beast cause he is but nothing like Suh, put it this way...last year there wasnt a single play i dont think where there wasnt a body or two or three on Suh and i can remember 3 or 4 plays this game that Fairley was untouched into the backfield. Thats really all there is to say about that the Ducks had plenty of chances on offense they just couldnt get anything going against that Auburn front line, also Thomas wasnt on target missing a few wide open throughs, well Cam Newton was also off its just that they were able to get there run game going and the Ducks were not.
The National Championship game wasnt the only game i struggled to figure out i went 1-2 tonight with my NBA picks, as the Celtics got upset by the Rockets at home none the less. I made it a point to say that the Celtics are iffy without Garnett i thought they had it in them to beat an iffy 17-21 Houston team but Aaron Brooks was a little to much to handle late in the game for the C's and they get handed there 2nd straight loss, no need to worry though they will bounce back especially once KG is back in that line up look for him to really get his guys pumped up and ready to play and ready to play hard physical Celtics style basketball and look for him to bring a big scoring lift not only with his scoring but also with others getting better looks with KG on the floor. The next game on the night is another game i got wrong, the Bobcats came away with a win over the Grizzlies, Rudy Gay was well below his scoring average for the night i think Marc Gasol wasnt as much of a defensive force as usual i dont know for sure i can only go by the stats i am looking at on ESPN cause i dont have any special NBA league pass or anything all though i really wish i did cause i am really starting to get into the NBA just as much as i am into the NFL and MLB, i really like hockey as well and i am gunna start posting on the NHL as well i am starting to watch a lot more hockey espeically cause you can find a game on at least one a night if not 2. ANYWAYS back to the NBA not only did Marc Gasol and Rudy Gay not have a good night on the other team D.J. Augustin as well as Stephen Jackson has great nights shooting the ball, Jackson with a much better all around performance with 27 points 1 block 1 steal 4 dimes and 6 rebounds. In the final game of the night the only game i got right the Bulls were able to beat the Pistons even though the Pistons got out to an early lead and kept it that way for the about the first 3quarters again i am only going on what i saw on sportcenter here but it looked like Rose played out of control as he does every night Boozer had a regular night for him with a double double 27 points 11 rebounds and 1 dime, Rose however went for 29 points 1 block 2 steals 7 dimes and 5 rebounds a really great night all the way around for him. I think im gunna call it an early night i will post in the morning my Play off picks for the upcoming weekend i will talk NCAA hoops as well as a little more NBA and i will make my first NHL post.
