Of course less then 24 hours after i talk about the rangers getting Jim Thome the Twins sign him for a one yuear deal i mean obviously Texas woulda had to come with a good offer in order to bring him away from the Twins i know he was on the Rangers radar but i dont know if he was a big part of their focus or not, BUT as i checked out the Rangers blog on ESPN Dallas's website, now they are looking again at Manny Ramirez which would be better for the Texas lineup for sure, he is a righty and wont take away from first base playing time, i guess i dont know what i am talking about with Mitch Moreland cause everytime i read something about him its about how he would be better off getting as much at batts as he could at the triple-A level, so maybe thats what needs to happen they keep saying Michael Young will get the most firstbase reps, but it still comes down to who preforms in spring training really and i wouldnt count Moreland out. Another reason Manny would make a good addition to the Rangers is for his fielding, I am not saying to start him but just incase Hamiliton cant stay healthy (knock on wood) but really to be honest i love this deal when i read the article yesterday on ESPN how Boras had 3 free agents still to sign (andruw jones, Johny Damon) Manny being one of them i thought to myself its been awhile since i heard anyone the Rangers were intrested in, Manny would be a perfect fit in Texas, 1. He would actually fit in, in our club house (if not fit in he wouldnt cause problems) 2. We play in a homer friendly stadium, and while his production was nothing close to that of Thome last year he is Manny and i know he still has it in him, were talking about one of the best pure right handed hitters in the game, seriously you think the man cant have one more good year? He is 38 Thome will be 41 this year i guess its obvious now how much i like Manny Ramirez but really he could be great in Texas he would be the Vlad of 2011. I really hope by tomorrow i see on the Bottom line that the Rangers sign Manny to a one year 3.8-5 million dollar deal keep your fingers crossed!
Now on to my NBA picks for tonights games which is actually why i named this post cross your fingers it ment cross your fingers and hope my picks tonight are better then last nights, but then i just ended the baseball section with keep your fingers crossed without even realizing it until i went to switch over to ESPN.com to see the NBA scheduel for tonight, so take your pick on what you want it to mean. Now on to the picks lets see last night i went 1-2 and that brings me to a 24-19 on the season so far...not great by any standards i hope to have a great night tonight and get back in it. The first game is the Bull vs. the Pacers and since i picked the Bulls to win to continue my streak on ESPN.com's streak for the cash comp. I obviously am taking them here in my blog also i know the Pacers have been playing good lately but the Bulls just lost to the Bobcats i look for them to wanna come out and remind everyone that they are one of the top teams in the East. The next game is the Sixers vs. The Bucks, and because Jrue Holiday is starting on my fantasy team tonight i am going with the Sixers, and cause i think the Sixers are a little bit better then the Bucks. The next game is the Pistons vs. the Raptors, ever since the Raptors lost Bosh i think they lost all hopes of ever coming even close to making the playoffs i am going with the Pistons, i actually really like the Pistons i know you wouldnt be able to tell by most of my picks but i only pick against them when they are clearly unmatched...and thats when they seem to win the most haha. Next is the Bobcats vs. the Celtics I know the Bobcats are coming off a big win against the Bulls but i dont think it will be enough to come away with another upset tonight AT Boston, KG is out for his ninth game in a row just like Dirk good thing KG isnt the only thing the Celtics have like Dirk is apparently is for Dallas...more on this later. Next game is the Kings vs. the Knicks and i am sure by now everyone can guess who i am picking in this one....come on think.....think....thats right the Knicks haha i am pretty sure since i started my NBA picks i have not once picked against the Knicks...(i even picked them against the Heat) i really REALLY hope that the Knicks do land Melo i think him and Amare would for bring at VERY VERY least a few conference banners to the Garden, if not one championship banner, thats right i said it!! NEXT!!! The Mav's vs. the Spurs...ok if we go with the whole Tony Parker is in a scoring slump right now thing then Mavs do have a chance if they get offense out of Terry, and a little more out of J-kidd then maybe they pull of the W but i am hoping for Tony to break outta his slump tonight, i know the Mav's are my team but he has been killing me lately in my fantasy league i need him to shoot better from the field tonight, all that being said i am taking the Spurs to beat the Dirkless Mav's. I am just waiting for Mark Cuban to make a blockbuster trade of his own the way the season is going without Dirk i think its really opening his eyes that he needs at least one more superstar playing and a washed up J-Kidd isnt going to cut it. I say that with the best intentions being a huge Mav's fan. The Hornets travel to Houston for another game tonight a game in which i will take the Hornets, i expect Scola to have a monster game though i even am hoping for at least 2 blocks outta my man Luis, but i think while the Rockets are a decent team the Hornets are a very good team so i will take CP3 pretty much anytime. The Cav's at the Jazz i think the Cav's would have a much better shot to win if Dan Gilbert activated himself and got coach Byron Scottto playfor them at least then theyd have someone on the floor that cared. With that said i am taking the Jazz to win BIG at home by 20 or more. The Clippers (a.k.a the daily Sportscenter top ten highlight) vs the Golden state Warriors, this game isnt in L.A so i have a hard time taking the Clippers, but i think i am gunna take them anyways i know they trouble on the roab but i still Clippers beat the Warriors tonight, Plus its not like its road road game they arent traveling that far. The Nets play the Lakers tonight in L.A and after the Lakers did what they did to the Cav's and finally starting a little win streak of their own i look for them to continue their winning ways tonight and come away with the win against the Nets at home, i think Kobe and Odom have big games, i think the only chance the Nets have would be to stop the Lakers inside which isnt going to happen as long as they have Odom out there stretching the floor as a big man taking big bodys outta the paint anyways the Lakers win big in L.A. The Trail blazers take on the Suns who are coming off a comeback OT win vs. the Nets i still dont think that will be enough for the Suns to win vs. Portland! so those are my picks for tonight, i will be back after all the games to recap them and to do my playoff post
