Sorry for not being able to post yesterday like i was hoping to, i was hoping to give you my NBA and NCAA picks for last night which happened to turn out pretty good but since none of you saw them i wont share my picks with you but after we recap the crazy playoff weekend i will go over last nights amazing game between Syracuse and Pitt. Anyways as you know sunday was about the worst day i have ever had as far as picks go in the NFL espeically! Honestly i knew the Jets had a chance to beat the Pats but honestly the chance i gave them was smaller then your wallet after spending a week in Vegas play only slot machines (unless your the luckiest person ever.) and i may have given you better odds to hit the Jackpot then i did the Jets to win, I know their defense is good, i know their offense is a star studded cast I am not yet including the Sanchize in that cast he to me is like Jake from 2 and a Half Men (more when it first started then now) he is there every episode but he isnt a star of the show yet Charlie is and then comes Allen and maybe even Burta then Jake, but you know down the line Jakes gunna grow up and either be a star of the show or they will get another actor who doesnt look the same but does a better job, but we all know how that turned out and i am sure Sanchize wants his career to turn out just like Jakes. I will admit that i dont hate the Sanchize i didnt like for the first half of the season eveyone kept saying how great the Jets were and how much their offense had improved and they seemed to be crediting Sanchize, when to me it was more LT having a break out first half then Sanchize being some amazing QB that all the sudden figured it...as the season went on obviously his weaknesses were exposed and so were the Jets, everyone realized they pretty much are the same team as last year just with a few more pieces in place for when (or should i say IF) they make the post season, cause lets not forget Mr. Bart Scott that you guys were only in the playoffs cause another team LOST opening the door for you guys, NOT because you were so dominate and ran through everyone to get here, i just wanted to make that clear. I understand Scott is an emotional player and im sure he felt disrespected but why shouldnt we have disrespected your defense after what Brady did to you the last time you guys met up. Your defense was embarrassing and i dont know how you could disagree with that when you lost by 42 points! I can only really speak for me here but I wasnt saying your defense was horrible i wasnt even saying they were bad or good i KNOW you have a great defense but USUALLY Tom Brady can figure you out and pick you apart, and thats what i counted on happening, cause lets face it the Pats defense is no where near what it used to be when they went back-to-back, the Hoodie did an outstanding job coaching them up during the season but their inexperience showed in the post season and for the first time in a long time Brady looked confused out there he really couldnt figure the Jets defense out. Personally if you ask me i think that Brady couldnt wrap his head aroud the fact that a guy like Rex Ryan, someone i think Brady sees as one of those guys that just thinks his defense is so good they dont have to make adjustments for ANY quarterback reguardless of how good they are, and since thats exactly what Rex did i think it really caught Tom off guard i think he was waiting all night for Rex to bring the house or at least a few extra guys so he would have that hot route wide open....and he waited......and waited.....and waited to the point where he let the clock run down in the 4th quarter and didnt leave enough time on the clock for them to come back and score. I give mad respect to Rex cause the past 2 weeks he has beat the 2 best QB's in the league. Sanchize played great with 0 mistakes which is a HUGE part in why i think the Pats defense wasnt able to stop them i think they were counting on making Mark make mistakes and when he didnt the defense didnt know what to do. I loved when told Edwards where he wanted him (i like saying he "called his shot" like the Babe! lol) and put it right where it needed to be for Brylon to make the catch, it kinda pains me to say this but Sanchize looked really good in that game and if they can get another game like that out of him they MIGHT just be able to beat the Steelers but they will need the Steelers to make mistakes. There were a lot of what if's in this game but i wont even go there, i think that if the Pats can keep that defense together for a few more years they will be the Pats of old, and if they can turn Branch into a Moss type deep threat or pick up a Moss type deep threat in the offseason that will really help as well. I cant wait for both NFC and AFC championship games they both are gunna be great games, the Jets and Steelers should be a great defensive game and the Packers and Bears is a great rivalry game and will be close because these 2 teams know eachother so well that its always close, i know they have split the series this year 1-1 each home team winning but if you as me when the Packers lost to the Bears earlier in the year they were not the same team as they are now, and while the Bears have a great defense they now have to account for the run cause Starks showed last week that it wasnt a one time thing that he IS a reliable back, i mean obviously he didnt have a break out game like he did the first week but when your QB is Aaron Rodgers and he is on fire why run the ball! Ok one last thing i would like to mention before going on to NCAA hoops...A-Rog was so good against the Falcons that the Packers didnt even punt the whole game! Think about that for a few minutes before moving on to NCAA hoops.................................................AMAZING RIGHT!?!
Yesterday was a great day for basketball there games on from 11 am till 11 or so at night. I wasnt able to watch as much basketball as i woulda liked to yesterday i watch the Bulls and Grizzlies where i was disapointed in Rudy Gay who is the only player on my fantasy team that didnt score in double figures yesterday and only hit on field goal all game, as the Bulls rolled over the Grizzlies, then i had some stuff to do so i wasnt able to watch i think it was the Hawks vs. the Nets and Nova vs. Uconn i wasnt so mad about the Hawks vs. Nets but i really wanted to see the Nova vs. Uconn i havent seen Uconn play and i all keep hearing about is Kemba Walker and how amazing he is and im yet to see him play, last night he hit the game winner with like 2 secons left on the clock or something like that .2 second idk cause i didnt get to see it which i was pretty mad about but o well. I did however catch the second half of the Syracuse vs. Pitt game which is the game i have been waiting to see ever since i saw they were play last week on ESPN. As i was on my way home i was checking my fantasy basketball stats and when i got the ESPN.com mobile homepage i saw at the top Pitt opens with a 19 to nothing lead only to have to Orange go on a 17-0 run to make it 19-17 in the start of the first half, So when i finally get home i run to the TV turn it on and its half time so i watch the Celtics vs. Magic (another great game) since the Celtics have KG back i fully expected them to win this game, i knew it would be a close one because the Magic are red hot right now (I know they had their win streak snapped but that doesnt mean they didnt just win 9 straight and doesnt mean they wont go on another tear at any second....it just wont be starting tonight haha) but the energy KG brings to floor not to mention the problems he creates for other defenses. I was enjoying this game and the Stars vs. Kings hockey game on versus. Finally half time was over and i could watch Pitt face their toughest test since Tennessee, the second half started out kinda how i thought it would each team trading baskets and mixing in a few stops or steals/blocks here and there but as the half went on i started to notice (Dicky V. loved pointing it out as well) Pitt found a spot on the floor where there seemed to be a tiny hole in the Orange's zone defense, if you ask me i think they had that spot on the floor because with Pitt you have to defend the whole floor they dont just score with their bigs or with their guards or from beyond the arc they do all 3 and they do all 3 very well so obviously there will be an opening on the floor in a zone defense the only way there wouldnt be was if they switched to a pressure man defense but even then Pitts guards handle the ball well and i think theyd weather the strom. Its still early in the second half and the Orange are down 1 they just scored and came up with a stop on Pitt and they are bringing the ball back up and Triche was wide open under the bucket for an easy 2points and the lead, but he missed the easy shot Pitt got the ball, you may not think that such a big deal but if he makes that it gives Syracuse their first lead of the night and a ton of momentum. A little later it looks like the Orange just dont have an answer for Pitt, then Sutherland hits a huge 3 i mean a huge 3 a 3 pointer that tied the game and the momentum seems to have shifted in th................but then Pitt brings the ball up and BAM Woodall hits a huge 3 of their own take the lead back, you'd think that would kill Syracuse and it kinda looked like it did they were trying to find an open shooter when Pitt knocked the ball out of bounds with like 2 or 3 left on the shot clock...the Orange inbound to Sutherland a fall away (Kobe style) 2 and he drains it! Everytime Syracuse makes a huge shot Pitt comes down the floor and makes an even bigger shot which seemed to be the story of the second half so far. Which i think is what led to the next few minutes from Syracuse, they kept shooting themselves in the foot for instance they get a huge steal and a chance to tie or take the lead and they miss the easy fast break points and have the 2 on 1 advantage and still let Pitt get the rebound, or they play good defense run out the shot clock force Pitt into a bad shot, then let them get the offensive rebound and easy lay up for 2, that sequence actually happened just like i typed it. The more i watch this game the more i realize how legit Pitt is, i am not saying the Orange arent legit but i think maybe a favorable scheduel (this is their coaches words before the game not just me) they arent as good as their record shows and im not saying they wont go deep in March cause they gave Pitt all they got, yeah they missed a lot of free throws and made some bad plays but thats why Pitt is better then people realize, cause ok maybe they need to work on free throws but other then that so far i see no holes in their game, not on defense and for sure not on offense! Maybe they play the best on TV i dont know but if thats the case then everyone is in trouble come March Madness! One thing i always seem to feel when i watch Pitt play is that they just want it more then the other guy, and that really was visable tonight in a HUGE win over #4 Syracuse who is now #5 and Pitt is now #4, the Big East is so stacked this year i cant wait to watch more of their games. Real quick i wanna say props to Danny Granger New Mexico alum who is tearing it up yet again this year! Ok ill also give my 2 picks for the games tonight i am taking the Hawks in Miami (the Heat are without Bosh and possibly Mike Lowery aka LBJ is a game time decision (there will be a 15 minutes special before the game called "THE game time DECISION" where LBJ will let us know wether he is playing or sitting the bench tonight) reguardless i am taking the Hawks on the road and the other game tonight is the Bobcats vs the Bulls i am really impressed with the Bulls as you all know so i am gunna pick them in what should be an easy win. Later tonight ill go over NFC and AFC championship games and give you my picks and ill give you my NBA picks for tomorrow and talk about this new Poker league Annie Duke is coming out with that is for pros only. Please check back tonight will have new poll and new video
