really?

I guess i will start with a game i actually caught most of which would be the Florida vs. Tennessee game, i really havent seen the Vols much this year but always keep track of  if they won or not on the bottom line on ESPN, because i really like coach Pearl, it seemed to me like he had them playing good in the "preseason" which is the games before confernce play starts, well thats what i call it at least. Anyways they had beaten a few ranked teams and seemed like they were a little better then people were giving them credit for, but then i watched them tonight and yeah they are without their coach and being without a coach of Pearls caliber can really hurt your team as we have seen in the first 2 games without their head coach they are 0-2, tonights loss should have been an even bigger one but the Vols found a way to get hot late in the fourth and take the game to OT, where they just couldnt make their shots and Florida was making everything, not only were they making baskets but they were pulling down rebounds and creating second chance points, if you remember i am really big on offensive rebounding and Florida is all over the offensive glass and i think it played a huge part in their win tonight, i saw a few times when the Vols would miss a shot and they would have at least one guy in the paint and he wouldnt even contend for the rebound just giving the ball to the opposition, another thing was Florida had a hot 3 point hand in Parsons and the Vols kept leaving him unguarded giving him wide open looks, so he proceeded to hit 4-5 3-pointers in a night where he had 16 points 6 rebounds 2 dimes and 1 block. Florida hit 50% of their 3 point shots while the Vols only hit 7-20 roughly 33% which was a huge factor and like i said rebounds really play a part in this one as well. While i didnt catch any other games i had a few comments on them, i'll start off with a shout out to Michigan State finally coming up with a big win against a ranked opponent in Wisconsin, who as they pointed out on sportscenter harly ever lose a game when they have the lead with 4 minutes left but Sparty able to figure out a way to take this one. Next on my list of course is the nations new leading scorer exploding for 47 points 4 rebounds 6 dimes and 2 steals, also add a half court LBJ look-a-like buzzer beater at half time (i wont mention his missed dunk...o wait) obviously no one see's much of him cause he plays for BYU. (they sometimes show their games on versus) Kinda sad that Illinois lost tonight, and my last comment on NCAA hoops in order for you to understand why i am mad about this i gotta give you the backround story...ok so today i am on ESPN.com where i partake in a contest called streak for the cash i dont know if you have heard of it but everyday they give you like 10 or so different outcomes to choose from for example...who will win this matchup...The Knick or the Trail blazers...those are the easy ones sometimes there is ones that are a little more challanging like taking your pick will The Lakers win margin be greater then the number of 3-pointer the other team makes or something along those lines...and the goal is to get as many correct picks in a row as you can to build a streak through out the month and the person with the longest streak at the end of the month wins, so i picked correct this morning extending my streak to 5 which is nothing to brag about but its the start of the month and its a decent start so i look at my options for correct pick number 6, there arent many choices and i see something that to me looks like a for sure thing, the question at hand is will Kentucky's win margin be greater then the number of field goals the Auburn Tigers make, im thinking its conference play ya Auburn is not nearly as good as Kentucky but i figure Kentucky by 20 at the most, and i figure you gotta make at least 20 field goals...and thats where i was right they made 21 but lost by 24!! SERIOUSLY! Lets think about that for a second, now thats getting beat badly!

Now on to the NBA, tonight was a much better night for me picks wise i went 5-1 and if not for a weather dely i am confident that i woulda gone 6-1 but anyways since the NBA makes it impossible to watch a decent amout of games unless you buy League pass or have the NBA network, i could only catch parts of games on ESPN's Coast to Coast show, where you really only catch a few minutes of action. But that being said, I am glad to see the Lakers back and on top of things destroying the Cav's by 55 points. Thats right 55 points i know its the Cav's who have now lost 11 in a row but seriously a pro team beating another pro team but anything more then 30 is just out of hand, none of the Cav's starters scored in double figures in fact only 2 players scored in double figures for them tonight and they barley made it, Sessions with 10 and Gee with 12. San Antonio starting to get back to their winning ways with 3 straight now after losing 2 in a row they bounced back nicely. I really am glad things worked out for Amare in New York i love what he brings to the Knicks and i love how he has put them on his back this year and made them relevant this year, i know he isnt doing it all him self but if you look at the difference he has made its amazing, everyone kept saying how the Knicks lost out this summer but i guess the joke was on all the sports writers the Knicks knew exactly what they were doing, But one this about the Knicks and Melo i know they said something like if they got Melo now he would mess up what they are trying to do, and i can see why they would say that but honestly i think he makes them way better with him and Amare down low and both can spread the floor and score in bunches i think if they can figure out a way to get Melo i dont see why they wouldnt. The Nuggets win big against the Suns, when the game started the Suns were ahead but double digits at one point i believe but i guess it all fell apart for them down the stretch losing by 34. I guess i will go ahead and give you my NBA picks for tomorrow and thursday. I am taking the Mav's to beat the Pacers on their home floor with or without Dirk i think the Mavs realize they need to win reguadless of if Dirk is out there or not they are a contender and they need to start playing like one, i know Dirk is a huge part of what they do but they have plenty of guys that can score, i am hearing that they hope Dirk will return sometime in this 3 game road stent the Mav's are on but that is not a sure thing, still i am taking the Mav's. I will take the Hawks at Toronto that is if the game doesnt get snowed out haha, but now that Joe Johnson is back there is no reason not to pick them especially over a less talented team in Toronto, they are my sleeper this year obviously not a huge sleeper with there good record and what they did last year but if they can keep playing like this and maybe get a little hot come playoff time i would turn my upset alert on. Next i am taking the Bulls over the  Bobcats, i really love watch Rose play no he is not just a passing point guard who manages the game or what people call a "pure" point guard but he does creat for his teammate he does get them the ball often enough but he also takes games over and dominates on the offensive side, i really like the Bulls and what they got going especially when they are healthy and i know the East is stacked up i look for the Bulls to maybe even end up in the Eastern finals i know thats not what i was saying but really if they are healthy i dont see why not. Next is the locally owned Sac town Kings against the Celtics and even though the Celtics are gunna  be without KG again and i cant stress enough how much better they are with him and how much they desperatly need him, i am still going with the C's to win this one, they lost last night on there home court i dont expect that to happen again especially to a team like the Kings or at least i hope it doesnt happen again, i think the big 3 will all have a great game (they are the big 4 with KG thats  been decided and if im the only one that thinks that then so be it but Rondo is for sure on their level now) Next up is Memphis at Detroit i will take the Grizzlies in this one, i know the Pistons have some impressive wins as of late but still i think the Grizz take this one, maybe its cause 2 of my fantasy players are on that team. Magic at The Hornets i look for the Magic to continue their winning streak in New Orleans, i am really liking the Magic more and more every night (haha they didnt even play tonight and i think i like them more then i did when i posted my previous NBA post, but they played last night so that counts.) The Spurs are at the Bucks and i look for them to make it 4 in a row and to really start to put together another run like they did at the start of the season. The Thunder are playing in Houston and i am taking the Thunder i think Durant and Westbrook will be to much for Scola and Brook to handle maybe if Martin has another amazing game as well as Brooks and Scola then maybe they can pull this one off but i am taking the Thunder on the road. The Nets travel to Phoenix where the Suns will bounce back from there big loss tonight and come away with a W, talk about what difference Amare makes you dont just look at the Knicks but look at how bad the Suns are this year without him. The Knicks travel to Utah to take on the Jazz while i know that Jazz are playing good and the Knicks struggle against good teams i think that they will come up big on the road here and i am taking the Knicks to upset the Jazz on their home floor. I'll take the Lakers to win over Golden state, and last but not least i will take the Heat to beat the Clippers even though i am predicting it now that Blake Griffin posterizes either big Z or Chris Bosh in this one, still the Heat will be way to much for the Clippers to handle. Now on to Thursdays 3 match ups I will take the Wizards over the T-wolves, Tough one here the Magic at the Thunder and while i really wanna pick the Magic cause they have been so impressive as of late something is telling me to pick the Thunder so thats what i will do, and the last game of the day i am taking the Heat to beat the Nuggets.

I know i need to brush up on my NHL i havent watched enough games yet this year to really post on it without sounded stupid i just really like to know what im talking about i like to be able to base my opinions off of more then a few games, so i will get to the NHL posts i promise i love the NHL and its much easier to catch and hockey game now a days then a NBA game so i will get on top of that.
