Rodgers for MVP!

I was going to wait until all the basketball games were done to post so i could see how good i did tonight picks wise, but after my Packers just did that to the 1 seed in the NFC i had to get on right away and write about the two games that took place today! I will admit i was kinda hurt that as good as the Ravens are and as much as i like Flacco and who they surrounded him with this year still they couldnt pull it off! IF Flacco was Superman then Big Ben and the Steelers are his kryptonite, i mean he just cant beat them when they have big Ben under center. When the game started it looked like it was the Ravens year the first half was all Ravens, it was almost like the Steelers spotted the Ravens that lead, When the second half started i figured it would be a much better game i figured the Steelers would score to make it close and then it would be the kickers game from then on out...BUT of course thats not even close to what happens, the Steelers come out and are forced to punt, so things are looking even better then i expected them to with the start of the secon....just as i am thinking that Ray (i never ever fumble) Rice catches a check down pass from Flacco...He's got the firs dow....FUMBLE!!!! Are you kidding me! Steelers ball, from that point on i was uneasy as to how the second half would go, that to me is a sign that the football gods are against you, someone as sure handed as Rice fumbles that to me means things are about to change! I was more surprised at the Ray Rice fumble then i was when Shane Smacked Pilar in the head with a Croquet mallet on Weeds last season, and thats saying a lot! But i still had hope because the way T-Sizzle and the Ravens defense was playing, i still had hope they would hold off big Ben and his offense...two plays later the Steelers score and make it a one touchdown game (21-14) Still in a game like this with these two teams a touchdown is a big lead, especially the way Flacco has been playing today...then each team exchange punts and the Ravens have the ball back and time is taken off the clock so they are that much closer to the win, then of course Flacco turns into his postseason self and throws a pick which the Steelers capitalize on with a touchdown and they tie the game at 21. Now i am REALLY thinking that the Ravens might blow it again and sure enough Flacco fumbles...Steelers ball, at this point i was trying to look for a positive in the game and the only one i could find was that the Ravens held them to a field goal thanks to my main man (who i have known would be a beast in the NFL ever since i saw him play at ASU) T-Sizzle i know i talk a lot about him but when your that good there is no reason not to talk about him, plus like i just mentioned i have been watching him for a long time. Now the Steelers are up by 3 and its just the start of the 4th quarter at this point i have like a sliver of hope left for the Ravens at this point they are gunna need Flacco to come up big and i am a little worried about that i mean earlier when they had a big lead i figured they pound the ball on the ground 75% of the time and run out the clock as much as they could and only make Flacco throw when he has to. Not because he isnt good and not cause the pass attack that they have is anything short of great, but its just cause its the Steelers in the playoffs and Flacco just cant seem to get by them, so why not put the ball in Ray Rice's hands I dont know i am not the coach. Dont get me wrong im not saying no passing at all and dont try and beat them down field just not pass happy! Another big sign to me that the football gods wanted the Steelers to win was win Boldin dropped a sure touchdown pass in the endzone. I am not putting this loss only on Flacco (well acutally i kinda am) the 2 key drops in the game could have made the game much different if they both would have been catches, BUT like i say there is a lot more to a loss then just a few drops...but if your QB has 2 costly turnovers and then cant get the ball in the endzone after that, you gotta look at him more then anyone else. After the Steelers take the lead with that field goal the teams exchange punts the Ravens cant score its not looking so good, the Steelers get the ball back but this time they have to drive the whole field instead of half and that seemed to really effect them, they are forced to punt....Webb breaks a tackle splits the defenders...HE COULD......GO.....ALL THE WAYY!!! TOUCHDO....FLAG!! Are you serious! at least it took place in the Steelers 29 yard line, so the Ravens have a great chance to take the lead back here, and the first play is a 21 yard pass to Todd Heap, things are looking great....then the drop and they have to settle for a field goal, tying the game yeah but at this point you already know the outcome the Steelers are gunna get the ball and Ben's gunna drive em down the field and its over...wait a second the Ravens are gunna stop em its 3rd and 19! there is no way they are gunna convert this....until they do they bomb it way down field for a 58 yard pass putting them at the Ravens 4 yard line, where they of course score. But they scored fast enough that it left Flacco and the Ravens plenty of time to tie it up, a little foreshadowing for you, in the first hald Flacco completed a big pass to Housh, and then the announcer says...T.J has been begging them this year to make him a bigger part of the Ravens offense...which if you ask is a little over the line i mean he is option 3 in that reciever core if you ask me i would go Boldin, Mason, (actually 4th!) Heap, THEN Housh and if you wanna count Ray Rice coming outta the backfield id even put him behind Ray Ray....BUT i guess  he was getting to Flacco and Joe was scared that if he didnt throw to T.J he might get yelled at on the sidelines...SOO he goes to Housh with the game on the line 4th and 18 and there is T.J WIDE OPEN! YES the Ravens are gunna tie it!! YES....O wati he dropped it?! Seriously? Thats right folks with the game and SEASON on the line he chokes and drops the perfect pass from Flacco! Ok ok enough of that game on to the next one as Jay-Z would say. The game started out and it looked like it was gunna be jsut the same as the last time these 2 teams met in the ATL, the Flacons score first and the Packers are playing catch up the rest of the game, as they tie it up i am thinking ok at least they answered right away...then the Falcons get that kick return and my stomach turns and i am thinking really special teams after i stood up for you in my post yesterday saying they wouldnt play like they did last time these 2 teams met and they wouldnt give up the game winning play...and here we are in the first half and they might have done just that! Then (the real MVP!) leads his team down the field for a score, and from that point on they never looked back! What happens the Flacons get the ball back they are threating to score Ryan has taken them all the way down the field then the Packers get a sack to take the Falcons outta the red zone, then who does Matty Ice challage...only T. (throw it my way so i can pick it) Williams! and what happens he jumps up in the air like his name is Michael Jordan and picks that ish and brings it down for a touchback! YEAH BABY!!! If you give A-Rog that extra possesion he will take advantage of it, and he did, i will admit when he threw it up for James Jones or as i like to call hime Rashid Hanon for those of you that dont know who i am talking about...thats the kid from the little Giants that couldnt catch anything! HAHA but that isnt who he looked llike today espeically with that TD grab it was amazing, his defender even swatted it while it was in his hands and he was coming down with it but he held on for the TD and the lead for the Packers! After that the Pack punted the ball to the Falcons and the Falcons get the ball at their own 35 yard line with 2 time outs and 42 secons left in the half. Matty Ice manages to get his team down to the GB 26 before being sacked at which point the Falcons call a timeout, they are now on the GB 35 with 10 seconds left, if it were me i woulda spiked the ball after the sack ran a run play called a time out and then kick the field goal, i am not a coach or anything and i know its the playoffs and the teams wanna try every trick they have give it all they got, i geuss this is what the Falcons were thinking maybe they thought they would catch the Packers off guard with a pass play...Anyways they line up for the last play of the half clearly passing (once again if i am the coach i would probably wanna avoid T-Willie!) Matty Ice lets it go....PICKED!! T-Willie with his second of the game this one he takes to the house for 6! What a way to end the half!! All i could think is thats what you get for not taking the points! I was so happy going into half time, but i still was nervous this is Matty Ice he has only lost here 2 times EVER, he loves to comeback and look at what just happened in the Ravens game they dominated the first half and came out in the second and got rolled on by the Steelers, and this is a team that leaves that door open for the other team to come storming back to slam it in the Packers face, so while i was enjoying what just happened very much so i wasnt thinking that this ment we had the game locked down. Then the second half starts and we get the ball...its a perfect way to start the second half a long time consuming drive that nearly takes up 7 minutes of the 3rd quarter not only do we keep their offense off the field but we add another TD, so now we are up by 3 touchdowns, but the offense the Falcons have they could come back in a heart beat, so i am still on the edge of my seat, plus there is a quarter and half of football left...but then the Falcons go 3 and out and we score again its like A-Rog cant miss tonight! Having if you ask me one of the best games of his career! lets look at his stats real quick before i finsih the recap....31-36 366 yards and 3 TD's and no picks thats right he only missed 5 passes all game! 5! thats crazy if you think about it...anyways after they scored to put them up 28 i was sure it was in the bag....then the Falcons drive down the field easy and score...here comes the onsides kick...OMG THEY GOT IT!?! are you serious! The special teams is gunna lose it for us...after i calmed down i realized that Finneran touched it a yard to soon and we get the ball! So for sure we got this one...then all the sudden we cant score, Crosby even misses a FG this is when i start to kinda worry, the Falcons get the ball back, but the Packers shut the door on them recovering a fumble and tacking on 2 more field goals before the end of the game final score Packers 48 Falcons....21! thats right double there score PLUS a TD can you believe that! The 6 seed goes into the 1 seeds hosue (where they have only lost 2 times in the past 3 years!) and stomp them out like they are a CFL team! I was so happy watching this game words can not discribe it, haha....sorry its been awhile for us Packer fans to be the ones getting the breaks in the playoffs, so i am celebrating this all week!! look for a lot more on this game throughout the week trust me! Well thats all i got as far as the playoffs go.

Since i took so long to write about the 2 football games the rest of the NBA games are finished and depending on how you look at it i either finished 6-3 or 7-2 i am going with 7-2 since Dirk only played 15 minutes which is honestly like not playing at all and i was gunna get on once i realized that LBJ is not starting and i wrote a whole thing about how him and Flash would team up like Mike and Marcus from bad boys I & II to beat the Bulls but i forgot he had a sprained ankle so if you wanna get REALLY technical i went 8-1 cause i siad the Bulls need a win espeically over a team like the Heat but i did say i picked the Heat straight up i didnt give any if ands or buts for this game so i will stick with 7-2 if you have a problem with that lemme know and i will change it! But i for sure improved on my 32-22 record bringing it to 39-24 which is getting better for sure, like i said this is my first year really focusing so hard on the NBA, love basketball but for awhile there it just seemed like there were more actors then actual stars so i gave up on it for a few years....what i mean by that is you pretty much didnt even have to draw contact to get a foul it was getting out of hand and that really turned me away from the NBA but they have found a happy medium well for the most part. Anyways back to tonights games, i was right about Joe Johnson having a big game it just wasnt enough for the Hawks to come away with a win at home against the Rockets, i guess the Hawks are just carrying on the trend of good teams getting beat by weaker teams this week. Back to the Heat game i am glad the Bulls won to be honest I have always like their team and i really thoguht LBJ should have gone there if he wanted the best chance to win right away and for many years to come, but hey i guess he knows best right? LOL hard to say since the Bulls just beat the Heat i mean they were without LBJ and that does make a huge difference, when he accounts for double digits every night, and the Bulls only won by 3 but hey if James was in there it woulda been a whole different game so you cant say he automatically gives them a win but he for sure makes their chances much better, Wade had a great night again scoring 34 points 5 blocks 4 dimes and 6 boards leading the team in all aspects of the game! I continue to be amazed by my man Flash, this is why i was so excited for the season i know how great Wade is and everyone knows how great LBJ is with them together almost unstoppable, i know Bosh is huge too but i woulda went a different way...imagine if they got Amare instead?! Just take a second to think about THAT big 3! I woulda for sure picked them to go all the way then! The Magic are like i guessed back to their winning ways, when like i said 5 of their players score in double digits like i said they are capable of then 9 times out of 10 they will win, and tonight they had 5 guys score in double digits so they came away with the W. Really quick ill make my picks for tomorrow. I will take the Lakers over the Clippers, i know the Clippers have had some impressive wins the past couple games at home, but this is a home game for both teams, that being said i will take the Lakers to continue the win streak they are on. (knock on wood!!) The last game of the week is on TV and its the Nuggets vs. the Spurs and with Tony Parker out of his slump, i am gunna have to take the Spurs i know the Nuggets have been lighting up the score board the past 3 games but this is the best team they have faced and i think the Spurs will be a little to much for the to handle. I'll take the Spurs in OT!
