Thome

I will go over the NBA real quick on the worst night yet for me picks wise i went a horrible 1-2 with the Heat losing  their 2nd straight game, tonight however they were without LBJ which is a huge part of their offense but they still have flash and Bosh, and seeing as how i only was watching the updates on ESPN.com i cant really say what i thought about as far as why they lost or what they looked like but like i said about the Lakers earlier, i am not worried about the Heat and their recent skid. I really like the Thunder especailly cause i like Durant and what he has done for the team, this year the Thunder are unbeaten when they play on national TV with wins over the Bulls, Celtics, Mav's, Nuggets, and Trailblazers, and play the Lakers coming up on monday a game i am really looking forward to. But when you are a team like the Magic and are so much more offense then defense and you have a team shoot lights out like the Thunder did then you better hope that you can score 140 points just so your sure to win, sorry to say that didnt happen tonight and the Magic got torched by the Thunders version of shake and bake that be Durant who went for 36 points 1 block 1 steal 2 dimes and 6 boards, and Westbrook who laid the golden sombrero on them (my way of saying triple double) with 32 points 2 blocks 1 steal 13 dimes and 10 boards, which helped to hold off the Magics 4th quarter comeback. Howard played good as always with 39 points 2 blocks 1 dime and 18 boards, i think they will need to get alittle more offensive help from their starters and play better defense if they wanna keep up their winning ways deep into the season and playoffs.

On another note, i was reading that the Rangers are looking at aquiring Jim Thome which i think would be huge, i know that they need starting pitching and or middle relief and are looking at Pavano as well, in a world where i win all my fantasy leagues and i have a 5,000 reader a day audience we would get both with ease, we have the money for both or i would think so anyways cause there is no way that Thome gets more then 4.5 mill and thats really pushing it, and Pavano maybe signs a deal somewhat like Soriano just did with the Yanks, but to me Thome would be a good move to replace Vlad's spot in the line up i know they have a DH and have power in their line up but now you can have Thome DH righties and Young to DH lefties, and maybe play a little first base, i know that rookies who come out big and have a good first year sometimes fall short their second year but my hopes are up for Moreland. All that being said if we get Thome just think of Thome, Hamiliton, Beltre, Cruz, Kinsler and so on, but if you ask me who we need more or rather what we need more power hitting or soild pitching i will obviously say pitching, the Rangers the past few years have really become a team to beat a team thats fighting for a post season spot, and we have always had good bats or at least our order has had the same core guys the past few years it wasnt until this past season when we landed the ace of all ace's (even though it was only for half a season we still got him) in Cliff Lee and what did we do, thats right we just made it to the World Series, where the biggest upset of the year happened if you ask me. Although i guess i should have seen it coming seeing as how the Giants got through the 3 best pitchers in baseball before taking on the Rangers, i liked both teams in the World series, mostly because i like the pitching staff of the Giants and the New Mexico native, and obviously i love the Rangers being that there my favorite team (i like a lot of baseball teams and cheer for many different teams but when the Rangers had my favorite player Pudge and they are so close to where i live they were my favorite team growing up so i must stick with them as my favorite team) I know tonights post was short but i am gunna get back on first thing in the morning and figure out my overall record in NBA picks this year, i will make my NBA picks for the rest of the week talk a little more baseball, and cover more playoff stuff before the weeekend hits
